We are certain you will enjoy our fresh fish market, restaurant and Sushi & Oyster Bar as well as our hospitality. In August of 1985 we opened our doors in Ojai, California, September of 1998, In Thousand Oaks, California, and Channel Island Harbor July of 2000. But our story began long before this. In 1963 when Bill Sutton, one of the owners, was only seven,, his Dad took him on a fishing trip. From that day forward he was "hooked". Bill as a small boy would have his Mom drop him off, and pick him up from the pier, where he fished all of his spare time. Bill brought his small catch home, and with red wagon in tow, marketed his catch to the local neighbors. This was the beginning of it all. Bill then worked on sport fishing boats part time while in school and after graduating from high school in 1972, went to work on commercial fishing boats that fished up and down the Pacific Coast.

We really love this restaurant...

We really love this restaurant. It is a casual, relaxing place. The owners seem to know everyone in town. The fish is always fresh and well prepared. The staff is friendly and efficient. It is locally owned and run. One member of the family is a fisherman and has his own commercial fishing boat. We often order fish that was just caught. There is also a sushi bar with some very good and unique sushi dishes. The smell of garlic being sauteing for their "garlic tuna roll" is wonderful and gets us ready for a great meal. We recommend that you ask to have the garlic tuna over the "Jesse Roll". It usually comes over a California roll. That's ok, but the Jesse roll is better. We've tried most the the seafood dishes on the menu and they are all good. Favorites are the fish & chips, Blackened Salmon Salad, Chowder Buoy, any of the nightly specials. Oh and the homemade fruit cobblers for dessert are yummy. We share one with 2 to 4 people.
