I love thsi restaurante, however they rehired Mitra who is the reason I quit going. When I go out to eat with my family, friends, or a date, I do not need her to come over and interagate us on who or what is going on in our lives or if I am still dating the other guy, while I am with another date. really, I don't ever know her except from El Matador, and then she sits at our table as if she was part of our dinner party. Get her out of there and pay her to work not bother customers. Until she is goine, I will not go back.

Tony, your rest. is great but if you have a gift card on an American Express forget it. You do not honor it . WHY??? Been coming here for almost 40 years but its the last time because of the gift card you would not accept.

Be for warned,they are the only establishment on the planet that doesn't take Debit or Credit Cards,only checks or cash(I never even carry my checkbook around anymore)The one is Bountiful is better,better salsa,better enchiladas.Having said that the service was good,fast it's okay but could improve.

Chef Tony's Original El Matador Restaurant and Cantina in Ogden, Utah is the best Mexican in the state!! It has been established for 43 years and offers cheap and fantastic Mexican fare. My whole family (and all of my friends) have been going there for 20 years and plan on continuing to pataronize them in the future. The warm salsa with melted cheese is a great concept and everyone i know of (even people from Bountiful, Salt Lake, Logan, and other states) love El Matador!! So go check out El Matador in Ogden. It is much better than any other.
