Most be one of their older stores --rather depressing compared to the other Sam's I have been in and everything is packed in so that you have a "tight" feeling. Must have been an old warehouse that was not quite big enough but they decided to make it work. Went in to check on tires the other day, and the salesperson couldn't have cared less what I wanted. Found out what kind of car I had, went to the back, and came out with a written quote for some high performance tires with a "V" speed rating. I am 65 years old and drive a Camry. But, I apparently I should buy them because they had a rebate! Then, he was on to the next customer. Parking a real hassle with very few places for returned carts so they are strewn on curbs and in what should have been slots available for parking. Long check out lines made longer by clerks who have to give you a sales pitch for upgrading your membership as you check out. That is really customer friendly! Add to this the fact that you have to pay a membership fee, often buy in bulk to save anything, and the fact that one week they will have a given product and the next they won't, and ...well, just check out "reseller ratings" on the web. About 50 reviews of Sam's Clubs across the nation and the average rating is ONE STAR. I guess I was just in a generous mood today. But the bottom line is that if you don't have a Costco or BJ's in close proximity,you are not going to get the best prices. Our Sam's in Charlotte, NC had considerably lower prices, but a Costco was within walking distance.
