I live in Oakland, Tn. I was in the law enforcement world most of my life. Therefore I have the utmost respect for that line of work until I encountered a rookie Saturday night at approximately 10:35 pm on March 14, 2015! I was just coming home from work. I was in the area of forest edge where the speed limit is 65 mph. Keep in mind that it actually shows on the ticket that I was in that vicinity!! This rookie officer along with a seasoned training officer pulled me over and issued me a citation for speeding in a 55 mph zone. Not only did he issue me a citation but he added 4 more miles to the ticket over the speed limit! These Officers willingly and unlawfully falsified a city document! I was very respectable and humble of course. The Officers did not realize that I lived in Oakland and drive Hwy 64 several times a day! I am an older woman in my car alone therefore they chose me to harass that night. Monday morning I immediately started doing my homework trying to find out who is the Chief of police? Who is the city prosecutor? Who is internal Affairs for the city of Oakland police department? I was ready to spend every dime I have to take these guys to court even if it takes me owing every credit card company under the sun! I don't disobey the law!!! I have never got a ticket but I will not be harassed either! I spoke to the Chief of police. He appears to be a reasonable man because he did acknowledge that area is 65 mph! He stated that it had to be a mistake on the officer behalf because he is a rookie............but need I remind the public and the Chief that he was working with a seasoned training officer!!!!!!!!!! My ticket showed I was going 69 mph in a 55 mph zone. It's nothing worst then a DIRTY cop in my book! Citizens of Oakland and surrounding areas "BEWARE" because I saw first hand what can happen to innocent people. By the way, that ticket was going to be $173.00!!! I'm going to read every article for the remaining of those Officers career in the law enforcement world because I may have to tell this story again! I am going to find a frame for that ticket!
