Stacy Outten couldn't handle our then 7-year-old, but rather than admit that she'd come to her wit's end and perhaps recommend someone else she caved to her ego, blamed it all on the child, and refused to continue to work with him. We saw her because my ex has very authoritarian viewpoints but also constantly caves when met with my son's resistance which created repeated power struggles. I don't have the problems he has and while my relationship with my son is not conflict-free, we resolve these conflicts. What I do not have is Outten's degree, she's supposed to be the expert, and her inability to deal with my son really surprised me - in addition to questioning her capabilities. What ultimately made me stop working with her was her siding with my narcissistic and manipulative ex, and her actually verbally attacking me in the most unprofessional manner. I wish there was a professional association where I could file a complaint as I feel she should retake a few of her exams.
