Good Food

Had a chance to eat @ Miss Pearl's Jam House. My daughter & I were pleasantly surprised how good it was as compared to the last time we ate there, which was over 2 years ago. The menu has been changed and there was a new chef & management. Both the Breakfast & Dinner was well prepared, delivered very quickly & beautifully prepared. The servers continuously came around to see how we're doing & to see if we needed anything. Even the dinner manager came by to chat & see how we were doing. My daughter & I would now strongly recommend eating @ Miss Pearl's Jam House

Don't eat at Ms. Pearls Jam House

The food wasn't good at all. With the breakfast one has a choice (although the server my daughter & I had would not ask what we'd prefer) of either regular toast or their Flat Bread. Not only did the flat bread not look appealing, it smelled really bad. I did ask for Sour Dough toast, however, it took a lot of insisting on my part to get it as the server demanded that I eat the flat bread. I told them neither nyself nor my daughter would eat it.

The service left a lot to be desired. Not only did the server demand that I eat the Flat Bread (mentioned above), I was about 3/4 of the way done with my breakfast before she finally brought the sour dough toast. She never bothered to apologize for assuming that I'd eat their Flat Bread, she never bothered to stop by to see how things were going (I guess she realized that if she did, I would say something bad).

The prices are outrageous. The breakfast my daughter & I had were $13. each & we didn't get that much for the price. The cooks use a lot of fat & oil in their cooking (although the server said they don't, my daughter & I know better. If they didn't use any fat or oil, then why was there grease on the plates?). We asked the server to tell the cook no fat or oil. She sarcastically said they don't. My daughter ordered a scrambled dish. Instead of the eggs being scrambled, it was more like an open faced omlet. When asked by my daughter to take it back to have it done the right way, the server refused to take it back, insisting that she eat it. She wasn't going to argue as we had done enough arguing.

We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are other restaurants nearby that have a much better breakfast for a lower price (Buttercup Kitchen, Kincaids & Scotts (for weekend brunch only). (Kincaids & Scotts prices are a little higher, however, the food, whether it's for brunch, lunch, or dinner) is by far much better).
