Great food,great chefs and great service

When we first went into the restaurant to check it out prior to dining we were assured by the beverage manager that they had the egg yolk topping and the garlic Japanese bread crumb topping like Japan 77 does. Fast forward to tonight's dining experience. My daughter and I went thankfully on a Groupon. They were all out of egg yolk topping and did not have the Japanese garlic bread crumb topping at all. The shrimp appetizer and shrimp dinner were not cut up, but whole shrimp. We did not have knives to cut the shrimp up. The vegetables were very salty as was almost all of the food. The medium rare steak I ordered was very medium. The show that we are used to was sub par. The good highlights were the ginger dressing was good, sweeter than most places, and they served a seafood sauce instead of hot mustard dipping sauce. My daughter said the teriyaki sauce was better as well. Another highlight was getting the free Saki shot into my mouth from the cook. As for the smokeless tables not having you bring home the food smell, I have to disagree. I still brought home that typical teppanyaki cooking smell. I would only go back if we had a great deal/coupon to use other than that we will stick with Japan 77.
