Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery had its beginning in 1912, when a group of socially conscious women started the nursery to provide total childcare to working women in the community. Based at Oak Park, Ill., it currently provides full-time childcare and preschool education to up to 77 children from Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and surrounding communities. Apart form serving high-income families, the nursery also accepts low-income families who qualify for the state-subsidized childcare program. Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery is licensed by the Village of Oak Park and the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services. It also holds an accreditation of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Get rid of that troll directing the place!

BEWARE of this place! It looks great on paper ONLY. Go in to meet the director who resembles a troll in bright red lipstick who wobbles up and down the hallways like Hitler...Run away!

Best Childcare in Oak Park

My daughter has attended the Day Nursery for over a year and I am absolutely pleased by the quality of care she has received. The Day Nursery offers full day care with all the benefits of a quality preschool program. I know my child is learning every day, but also is well fed and well rested. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Additionally, monthly events are planned for parents to participate in the program. The Day Nursery is the best childcare in Oak Park.
