I would know I drove a mixer for 20 years.
The previous review is a typical home owner that doesn't do concrete.
Concrete dispatchers the Pearson you talk to when you call to order concrete know when there dealing with a homeowner and are even more clear on the cost of there product and the holding time cost if any or overtime cost and short load charges.
I can't speak for this particular driver but all the drivers I've encountered were very professional. that being said if you give a driver attitude you get back what you give out. It's not his fault you didn't understand the dispatchers pricing. And I'm sure when you called the plant management you were more frustrated after you got nowhere with the driver.
Again you get what you dish out in the construction business. its not cheap to get that product to your door so if your going to do it yourself prepare to accept the cost of a driver at your house for hours while you figure it out. If your not ok with that then hire someone that does now how to do it. I'm sure if you would have paid attention in the beginning that there would have been no problem.

Provided by YP.comThis company deserves NO BUSINESS. We had a problem with a concrete truck driver with a bad attitude! We called and talked to the plant manager and he had the same attitude. They charged us additional fees that they did not tell us about up front. The driver was upset because he had to work on a Saturday and then when I questioned him about the additional fees he really became angry and wanted to start a fist fight with my brother. This company has no feelings for the customer. They did not appologize for this incident. I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone! The customer is always correct but not in their eyes. Can you believe the plant manager even hung up on my husband. What type of business is this really? In this day of the economy being so bad they should've at least appologized for the driver's bad attitude. It's not our fault he had to work on a Saturday!!! Please do NOT use this company!
I am the Plant Manager for Schreiter Ready Mix. Due to the time between when the review was made and when I was made aware of its existence is seven (7) months, I do hope that I am accurate on the specifics. The only additional fees on any order would be for "waiting time". This is when a customer keeps the concrete truck/driver for an excessive amount of time. In this instance the customer ordered 4 yards of concrete. After 30 minutes (20 minutes to unload/pour and 10 minutes to wash down the chutes so that the truck can safely return to the plant) the customer would be charged "waiting time" at $1.25 per minute i.e. $75.00 per hour. This customer kept the truck for 1 hour and 25 minutes on a 4 yard pour and was charged $68.75 for truck "waiting time". This practice is done by all concrete companies in the St. Charles/St. Louis County area although the amount charged and grace period varies by company. The delivery situation portrayed by the review writer, my driver and other employees that talked with them vary greatly. I was told by my driver that the situation escalated when the customer was informed of the waiting time charge. The customer was informed by my driver that if they had any problems with the bill that they should take it up with the office. My driver also said that he instructed one of the crew members to "back up and get out of his face" when that member became overly aggressive. When the review writer and crew members called into the office with their claims, I did explain to them what waiting time is and I did tell them that I would not do anything in regards to their bill without talking with my driver first. When the driver returned to the plant and explained his assessment of the situation, I did call back the review writer and crew members and explained our position. I also informed the review writer and crew members that I did not feel my employee nor our company did anything improperly. At that point in time the review writer responded that "the customer is always right" and hung up the phone on me. Respectfully Submitted, Ed Neugent
