Spaulding Youth Center, in Tilton, N.H., strives to improve and enrich the lives of children, youth and families through educational and therapeutic programs that foster the promise of becoming responsible citizens. Founded in 1958 with the merger of the Daniel Webster Home (established 1871) and the Golden Rule Farm (established 1914), Spaulding Youth Center is one of the oldest childcare facilities in the nation. Located on a 600 acre farm in rural New Hampshire, a professional staff of more than 150 offer around-the-clock, intensive residential treatment, educational and community service, including foster and respite care, for children and youth ages 6-21 with autism or other neurological impairments and boys in grades 1-8 with emotional and behavioral problems. The center provides therapeutic, educational and residential care to the most troubled and challenging youth - victims of sexual and physical abuse, autistic children and teens, and boys with emotional and behavioral disorders.
