Jonathan believes that counseling is a collaborative relationship where he and the patient work together to accomplish treatment goals. Jonathan employs a strength-based and person-centered approach that allows him to engage in meaningful conversations targeting the patient's areas of concern. Jonathan works with patients to build upon areas of strength that patient can use to face life's challenges. Jonathan uses evidenced-based treatment strategies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and executive functioning coaching. Jonathan also holds a Professional Educator License in School Counseling. Jonathan graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree as well as his Master of Arts in School Counseling degree from Northeastern Illinois University. In the school setting, Jonathan has worked with high school students, assisting them in exploring post-secondary opportunities, academic planning, as well as working through any personal issues. He has worked with teens struggling with family illness and loss as well as divorce. Jonathan also assisted eighth grade students in transitioning to high school, through developing study skills, time management, organizational, and other executive functioning skills.
