This guy sees patients for only 15 minutes and charges nearly $100 for 15 minutes! That is not enough time to get to know a patient. His advice is insensitive. He should take care to not crush a patient's self esteem.

Great Doctors, confidentiality is never an issue and very flexible with scheduling.

Bottom Line Up Front: If you or your family have mental health conditions anywhere in the Iowa City, Cedar Rapids Corridor, this is the place to go. I drive my family 30 miles for appointments from northeast Cedar Rapids to North Liberty because they are that good.Meadowlark offers a one-stop-shop for your mental health needs. They can prescribe medicine, offer on-site counseling, and full scale psychological evaluations for children through adults. They are honest and up front and if they can't treat you for some reason they will give you the names and numbers of someone who can. They are very busy but multiple times I've had counselors make an exception to the scheduling policy or stay late if my daughter was having an issue and needed to be seen. They are open and honest brokers and not all about getting you to come back all the time either just so they can bill you. When my kids were doing better the counselors suggested cutting down or even stopping visits. When my youngest got better the psychiatrist immediately took her off her meds and didn't keep pushing them as I've experienced elsewhere. We've missed appointments due to snowstorms or been late and the general rule is to turn you away or charge you missed appointment fees. However, they will always check with the doctor or counselor if you ask and more often than not they will either see you anyway or waive the fee. They understand people are busy and have late evening and Saturday appointments available. I do recommend calling early though because of course they fill up fast. At any other time of day I've never had a problem getting in the same week. I've sent my friends there when their son had problems and they re-assessed their son's condition because the current diagnosis from a major university hospital didn't seem quite right and got him on the correct meds and he improved quickly. They have some of the best in the business working there and genuinely care about people. I can't think of enough good things to say about this place. I understand that the same place won't work for every single person out there and everyone's experiences are different but I'd say if you need help, give these folks a call and give it a chance. So, 5 stars for sure. They probably deserve 10 in my book.

Is there was a negative score I would have given it. I had an appointment after 10 mins of waiting I asked when I would be in. Soon I was told. After 20 mins of waiting I asked if it would be much longer, I was told they would buzz the Dr. again. after 30 mins of waiting I said I would need to reschedule. Never got an explanation as to why I didn't get in at my appointment time. But as I was waiting for 30 mins I did get to hear all about MTVs Teen Mom from employees, and another person's session, yes, I don't know if the door was open or what but I heard EVERYTHING. Not too confidential if you can hear everything in the waiting area.
