The Federal NoHo, founded by Knitting Factory Entertainment in 2011, occupies one of the oldest existing buildings in the San Fernando Valley. The Federal produces gourmet fare served in a casual, relaxed atmosphere with 20 craft beers on tap, some of the finest bourbons & scotches and an eclectic wine list. The Federal unites modern-day styling with a nod to the building's origins as a 1920's bank. On the ground floor are two distinct contemporary yet traditional bars, each with its own style and charm featuring resurfaced brick walls, period furniture with modern style, opulent wood floors, intimate booths, cushioned leather chairs and flat screen TVs. The second floor holds the Upstairs at The Federal, our events space with full production capabilities, cathedral ceilings and full bar. As well at the Salon, The Federal's exclusive speakeasy. The Federal builds on an historic legacy in the rapidly diversifying North Hollywood neighborhood. The Federal NoHo, founded by Knitting Factory Entertainment in 2011, occupies one of the oldest existing buildings in the San Fernando Valley. How did North Hollywood get so cool? I had a great time at this beer-centric, swank establishment in an old brick building that was formerly a bank. Crooners' music (Frank Sinatra, Pink Martini) played, and there was a lively crowd staying out late for a weeknight. I enjoyed the chicken-and-biscuit sliders and thought it was nifty how they suggested beer pairings for each menu item.

A nice casual bar in the noho arts district. They have a weekend brunch - 2 people for $30 and that includes unlimited mimosas. They also have a live band during brunch time. Service is always quick and easy, servers are attentive. I highly recommend if in the noho area.
