Met original owner Don Erickson in 1987 when Arts TV & Appliance recommended him to us when we bought our first home and multiple appliances. Bob bought the business from Don, Bob's son Jeff is now the guy to go to! 100% satisfaction all these years and just recommended him to someone again today!

Lane Appliance was very efficient and polite when my refrigerator broke. The young woman on the phone was very helpful and found me an appointment right away. The gentleman that came over was very polite and answered all my questions. Overall great service, highly recommended.

Be careful of Lane Appliances. I called Lane Appliances to fix my washing machine, the technician came, told me the washer needed a belt. He changed the belt, told me the washer is fixed and left, charging me $159.00, not the $90.00 I was told, . I then washed two loads of clothes of different sizes and found that the washer was not fixed at all. I called again, he came back and told me it's not the belt, but the motor, but it would cost over $300 to fix. I declined, stating I rather buy a new one. The technician took out the belt he had put in, refund me $60.00, which I thought was the cost of a new belt. I then tried to wash clothes again and found that he took out the belt he put in and did not put back my old belt so the washer could not work at all. The only problem the washer had the clothes washed but they did not spin dry enough, but now he left me with a washer that did not work at all. On my third call he did not come to replace the belt. I had to pick up the belt.

I've used the repair appliance...

I've used the repair appliance service periodically for the last 6 years. They have always been very prompt and accommodating as well as knowledgeable and competent. I only compared their pricing to another service once, which was the last time I called them in, and they were competitive.

Bad Service/Attitude

I called the office this morning to inquire about a missed appointment this past Friday. When I made the appointment, I gave my cell number and asked for a call approx. 10 minutes prior to your arrival. I never received a call. I was told by the office manager/co-owner that they had, in fact, been there and that you had called prior to arriving. I asked what number you had called and was told that she did not have that “in front of me.” Rather than apologizing, she told me that you were both very upset about it. I replied that I was upset as well and that I would make other arrangements. She said “Fine” and we both hung up. We run a service business ourselves and I can tell you that we do not speak to our clients that way. I checked my cell phone records for that afternoon and I have no missed calls recorded on my account. Absent the attitude I received on my call today, I would have been perfectly happy to reschedule. If this was the first time I felt mistreated calling your office, I would also likely have rescheduled. I have had enough.

PS The woman called me back 10 minutes later on my cell and said: "I know you are not going to do business with us anymore, but this is the number we have on our service report." I told her that I did not receive a call on Friday and she hung up on me mid-sentence. Wonderful!

I had a burned out surface unit on my LG range which was still under warranty for parts (but not labor). LG referred me to two local appliance service companies in the area so I went with the closer of the two. I spoke with the owner of Lane Appliance of North Haven CT and was told it would cost $85 for a service call and all labor would come out of that. A technician was sent out a few days later and confirmed that the burner was not working (apparently they did not believe me) and he would have to order the part. He quoted the job at $180 and asked my wife (I was not at home) for 1/2 as a down payment which she paid (they cashed the check that day, by the way). When I called and asked why the quote was so high, the owner explained to me that it was $85 for the diagnosis and $85 to come back to fix it (plus tax). When I questioned this policy, she got very angry, started yelling at me and hung up the phone. Upon a follow up call she told me to "shove it" and hung up.
