Wayne and his crew rebuilt the transmission on my 1990 Ford F250. The work was done quickly and for the estimate I received...no hidden extras! This truck works hard, plowing snow in the winter and hauling with the dump bed the rest of the time. This transmission is bullet proof! It's been two years now and I couldn't be happier with their work. Thanks Wayne!

This is an awesome transmission shop. They are very fair priced, have excellent customer service and above all else, deliver what they promise. I would highly recommend them to anyone with transmission problems.

Go here if you need transmission work! They do a great job at a great price. I needed a new transmission and they rebuilt/replaced mine within 3 days of dropping it off! I was impressed by the knowledge and courteous manner of the staff. Do yourself a favor and go there!

On June 29th my 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander which was purchased new and has never given me any problems had the Service Engine light on. We tried several things to see if that would fix it to avail. We finally took it to the Authorized Mitsubishi Service Center in my Chesapeake city. The car set there for three days they could only tell me the info what a diagnostic print out from AutoZone had given us which we gave them. They stated they where unable to reach Mitsubishi to find out if it was under warranty to repair. They did not charge us which was a good thing because they did not do anything. They stated they would let us know if was covered or not. To date they have not I contact Mitsubishi Motors who stated it was not a warranty item. I then took the car to Gene's Transmission on July 10th because a friend of mine had went to Gene's Transmission with a problem and they were so helpful. I got my car back on July 12th it was fixed. This is a great shop. They are very friendly and efficient. I have used them a few times and I was very pleased.

I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone needing auto work and definitely an inspection. I took my car to get inspected elsewhere and they apparently hadn't read the rule book since 2002 and rejected my car for something that is not an issue and will not go bad until double the mileage my car had. Gene's called them out on this, showed me the rule book, and got my car inspected the right way and saved me what was going to be a $430 repair. Thanks alot!

I was in the area from out of town when I started losing gears – UGH! My trany was down for the count!! I needed to get home to my family, which was a 4 hour drive away, so yes I was in a pickle. The staff at Gene’s were terrific! Not only did they quote me less than the other places I called, but they towed my car for me, rushed in the used/rebuilt transmission and rushed to get it installed. All of this kindness when they were slammed with local business and knowing they would probably never see me again, as I’m rarely in the Norfolk area! Now that's doing business the old fashion way! Mucho thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne at Gene's wil make a bad day better; he seemed to be genuinely understanding. Transmission repairs can be costly, so wayne will tow your truck for free and give you a free diagnostic if he repairs you car. He didn't belittle or say you should of did this or that. He explained everything he was doing and why he had to do it.

Replaced my transmission and even towed the car for me. They are very easy to work with and the price was fair.

I can't say enough about Wayne and his crew. They are hard working honest people and they do great work. Their prices are lower than most of the places around here, but most importantly they are honest.
