Went in today for lunch, ordered my food then decided ahhhhh the Mac n cheese looks really good so I go back to order. I waited for about 16 ministers, had finished the rest of my food. So I go back to counter to say I no longer want/need the Mac cheese. The woman fixing the side of Mac n cheese says ohhh sorry we don't give refunds at all. ��������why the hell did I just wait 16 ministers for some Mac n cheese, all the while I see people laughing, getting something to drink, and wiping the counter down. Mind you I went to the counter twice, stood there and waited for the Mac n cheese. Pork chop was great,y only complaint is be accountable when you know something is not right!!!!

I called at 3:58 p.m. today (Wednesday). Received the name of this place as a recommendation. I need mac and cheese and green beans catered for 125 people for an upcoming birthday dinner. Saw them online, but they have 2 locations named. Conversation:

Employee: (picks up phone, says nothing)
Me: Hello?
Employee: Hello?
Me: Yes, is this A-Mayes-N Soulfood?
Employee: We closed. (Hours of operation online state 11am-6pm)
Me: Oh, you're closing down?
Employee: No, we closed for the day.
Me: Oh. Do you you have locations in both Norfolk and Chesapeake or have you moved to one of the locations?
Employee: Norfolk.
Me: Thank you.
Employee: (hangs up)

I won't be using this place. Haven't tried the food and will never try it. The employees lack basic telephone skills. Can you imagine the drama if something actually happens and customer service is actually needed? Your employee communicated that you don't want our business, so I will oblige. Thanks for the warning. And I'll spread the word.

I when there for the first time people it was good, im still injoying myself i dont have go back to Calif. A-Mayes u got my vote.

Very good smothered pork chops and collards!!!! I love it so much and I am so happy I live around the corner!!! See you soon!!!!!
