The reason this company deserves the highest rating is because its owner, Tim Fahringer, seems to be more ethical, more helpful, more knowledgeable, and to be frank, smarter than most other owners. I feel confident giving this review because of what we, as homeowners, experienced... But I feel particularly confident because I told someone in the industry my opinion and they strongly confirmed my feelings....When we had our kitchen completely redone, many friends suggested that we make a list of problems as we found them, during the days and weeks afterwards. But when Fahringer Construction finished the job, THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS TO REPORT. In fact, this company points out specifics that you are unaware of that ensure that there will BE no problems, not just in the coming weeks, but in the coming YEARS. An example is why the trim on a cabinet next to the stove was done a certain way to allow for the removal of the stove should a new one be purchased...Since the work being done in our home was due to our insurance claim, we elected to go w/ one of their contractors...So Tim Fahringer wasn't responsible for things like the plumbing, as he would have been as the head contractor. (I wish he HAD been.) He happened to be present when a plumber delivered our sink, though. The plumber, himself, indicated that it didn't fit well, but presumably sort of made it fit, as opposed to taking Fahringer's suggestion to let him supply a piece to ENSURE that it fit more securely, And although he wasn't responsible for ordering materials, I overheard Fahringer double checking to make sure the right amount of some missing materials was ordered. (He had to explain to the person TWICE why the amount he was going to order was not enough.) This company just seems to be attuned to every detail, and also willing to put in a little extra thought, time & effort. Last, but not least, not many construction companies have an owner who seem both concerned with and knowledgeable about DESIGN. I would think this company would work well with a designer, but I would anticipate working w/ Fahringer Construction without a designer, to save money and to end up with a better look. They're the ones who know how to help you weigh the many options out there since they are so familiar with the cost of one option versus another. Once again, because of those traits mentioned earlier: ethical, knowledgeable, helpful---and smart. I strongly recommend them for many types of projects: as small as installing new windows and building decks as well as larger jobs such as baths, kitchens, and additions.
