Place is perpetually overcrowded. See the photo I attached that shows wall-to-wall people and shopping carts; it is problematic if you forget to pick an item and it is behind you. Forget about it. The overcrowding and the spoilage problems used to anger me to shop there; now I rather enjoy it because of the bargains found and money saved. Jerry's is well-known in the wholesale industry for procuring any food item either spoiling or immediately going to spoil, including packaged items, candies, etc. The motto is, "If it is going to spoil, call Jerry's and it will buy everything at pennies on the dollar!" Almost all candy bars and other candy has expiration dates within one day to one week of going bad. I estimate that approximately 40% of its fruit and vegetables are similarly in the rapidly spoiling process, as compared to other grocery stores where that percentage might be 5 or 10%. Accordingly, that explains the perpetual "blowout prices." There is no other way any retailer could provide fruit and vegetables at 50% of the prices of other stores, particularly being a small retailer. As long as one visits the store knowing that he must rapidly eat the food and that some of it is bound to be already spoiled or will not properly ripen, then expectations are fully set.

Last warning: do not ever expect a refund for anything you buy there! Don't even bother trying to return it! Jerry's motto seems to be, "You bought it, don't ever bring it back!"

I purchased Racconto grated Romano cheese at Jerry's Market at 7901 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, Illinois, and when we tried to use it, the cheese was rancid and horribly smelling. I tried to return them to Jerry's and they refused to give me any refund or store credit.

Fantastic fresh inexpensive and high quality produce with amazing variety to choose from. I go there any time I'm in Chicago. The parking is always full and the aisles filled with people, but that is just a little inconvenience and is worth it!!!

Lots of Stuff

Looking for veggies, meat, dairy? Jerry's has it all. I drive here from Chicago each week to bring it all home. The best, hands down!

This place is great. The selection of fruits and veggies are great plus the quality and price are great. It's cheaper than going too Jewel, yet it tastes better and it's fresher. Though it does get very packed, the people move the lines faster than most grocery stores.
