First choice for home repair needs.

I work in all fields of construction, from roofs to floors and everything in between. If ever I have a question, or am looking for a tool or part, I can count on the staff of DeFranco's True Value to go above and beyond helping me to complete a project.

The store has in stock most of the materials I commonly use on a daily basis. Whether it be a special screw or washer, maybe a floor sander or sewer snake, or even a mailbox or lawn gnome (the secret guardians of your house at night), DeFranco's has it.

If a day arrives that I am not greeted upon entry with a smile and professional courtesy, I will quit my job and go back to playing with Lincoln Logs. When I am in need of something on the job, I make this my first stop. Not only is it closer (in between downtown and uptown), but the staff will jump to show you where everything is, making your trip quick and easy. If they do not carry a particular item (hey, this isn't a lumber yard!), they will refer you to the best place to find it.

When I am shopping at a major chain hardware store, I won't name names (rhymes with Blows!), I get substandard service, or no service at all. Sometimes I'm even given false information! "Yes you have two inch hose, it's ten feet away... right behind you," a fellow CUSTOMER chimes in. Better yet, it's wonderful when you buy a part, that the employee swore on his dead grandmother was the right one, only to drive all of the way back to the job and find out that it was the wrong part entirely. The remainder of the job had been waiting on this one part to be completed and could go no further without it. So not only did I stop working and leave, but held up two other workers by then and longer still having to go all the way back to exchange the part, take up my old Foreman's time consulting him about the issue, use up more gas, appear unprofessional to my customer and push back deadline only to try and exchange the part only to find out that I can't return anymore items due to some new stipulation in their return policy! Now stuck with the extra part, I follow the same employee all around the store looking for what I really needed and have to listen the entire time about how I am wrong and somehow wasting HIS time by looking for something I don't need because he was correct the first time and must be improperly installing the original part being what I still need to use.

I understand that you would not be working retail if you were any good at construction and may not know the ins and outs of that field, but if your stuck working in a store on a daily basis you should at least TRY and familiarize yourself with where things are. THAT looks unprofessional.

I actually called DeFranco's to consult about a plumbing issue once cause I couldn't get a hold of anyone else. I would highly recommend utilizing this stores resources, stock, rentals, and above all customer service.
