Your Taxidermy Specialist. Mountain Critters Taxidermy is approximately 30 miles south of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. We only specialize in fur bearing and game animal taxidermy as well as skull cleaning (Keystone Skull) at the shop as well as skull cleaning. Our skull cleaning service can be provided throughout the United States with our shipping package (see shipping information below). Our office is open Monday - Saturday during peak seasons. Skull Cleaning We offer skull cleaning as the skull of an animal has become a new, unique way to display your trophy. We can clean skulls from the size of a mouse to a moose using the following methods - - We use dermisted beetles to clean the skulls - The skulls are then degreased and whitened There are wholesale and retail prices available (please see below for retail prices). Wholesale prices are available for taxidermists only (please contact for wholesale price quotes). Shipping Information (for skull cleaning): All heads must be frozen and shipped to us in good condition. The beetles will only eat fresh meat so no rotten skulls will be accepted. Hair can remain on the skull for an extra $10.00 charge. Please include your name, address and telephone number on the shipping box and send us an email or call us when you have shipped your skull. Once we receive your skull, we will email or call you to let you know it has arrived.
