Highly recommended

We had a backup generator installed, and are very happy with Newtown Electronics. They are extremely knowledgable, and even hooked our AC and heating into the generator. (Nat. gas) Feeling good each time we hear the generator kick on seconds after the lights go out. Recommended!

I called Newtown Electronics and left a detailed message indicating the type of intercom system I have in my office and the problem that I am having with it. I also asked how much they charge for a service call to see if my intercom can be adjusted/repaired or if it needs to be replaced and how much that would cost. I had to leave a message on their voicemail so I decided to also send them an email with the same request. I received an email reply from Pete at Newtown Electronics stating he received my messages and that he forwarded them to Dave and Dave will contact me soon. I later received a call from Dave stating he got my messages and that he could stop by and take a look at the intercom. He never said anything about how much that would cost although that was one of my questions. He stopped by the office, took a look at the intercom and determined he needed to take it back to his shop to have his guys look at it and he would call me later with his findings. He called me later and stated it would be cheaper to replace the radio than try to fix it and he gave me a price. I work for a doctor and so I informed the doctor of the fee to replace the radio. The doctor decided to wait on replacing the radio and requested to have our old radio returned so I called Dave back and informed him. At this point, he proceeds to tell me that in order to get my radio back I would have to pay $145 for the service call and $45 for the estimate. I was shocked! When I spoke to him on the telephone and when he came to the office HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE FEE FOR THE SERVICE CALL OR THAT THERE WAS A FEE FOR THE ESTIMATE. When I complained about this deception he didn't care and said I would only get my radio back if we paid these fees. Well, I refused to pay and he kept my radio. This is a very dishonest company and I would not recommend anyone to do business with them!!

DO NOT GIVE NEWTOWN ELECTRONIC...

Do not give Newtown Electronics your credit card # if you request them to come out to do any work for you. Please deal with them in checks.

I called David to do some work on my bell. I had requested that he call me before doing the work as I was out of town and there was a tenant in the house. I had approved $120 of initial visit on my credit card to estimate the work but they started the work without talking to me first then did all this extra work without my approval then charged me for the work!! I never agreed on the amount charged! David Funk is a sneaky guy, please be careful if you are going to use him.

I had estimated the charge would be around $150 to fix my doorbell, instead he charged $467.99 on my credit card without my approval. I made the mistake of giving him my credit card number - which I said he was to use only for the initial charge and had requested that he call me for an estimate and send me a bill so that I could mail him a check for tax records. I have the charge currently in dispute with my credit card company as well as I am filing a report with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs of Pennsylvania.

Here is a summary again of what David Funk did of the work request:

I had only approved the amount of $120 for a bell fixed on my house. I had requested that they charge me $120 for the initial visit on my credit card and then cost of the bell and I had requested that they talk to me on the phone before installing the bell with the total estimation.

They never gave me the estimate and they fixed two other things in the house that I had NEVER requested for and they charged me $467.99 without my approval.
