Shameful

Hello, my name is Finn Charlotte and I would like to talk about my visit to Fredon Veterinary Hospital. Recently, my human noticed that my front leg looked funny so she made an appointment for me to see the doctor. I dont like going to the vet; there are smells there that I dont know and noises and other animals that make me very nervous. We arrived early because this was a new vet for us and my human had to fill out paperwork. Right at the time of our appointment another human came out and showed us into a room. I was staying in my carrier because when I get nervous I want to run away. My human kept talking to me and telling me it was going to be OK. Well, the room was very hot even after we opened the door for some air. I just kept getting more and more scared because I didnt know what was going to happen. We waited there a whole 20 minutes before Dr. Dana came in & when my human asked why we had had to wait so long, Dr. Dana just said she was busy and didnt even say she was sorry for making me wait scared & panting in my carrier. That wasnt very nice. Then Dr. Dana asked why I was there & my human explained; Dr. Dana asked how old I was & my human told her; then Dr. Dana again asked why I was there & my human explained again; then Dr. Dana asked what I eat and my human told her. When Dr. Dana asked FOR THE THIRD TIME why I was there, my human became annoyed on my behalf (you see, I understand some English but dont speak the language very well) citing that it was the third time Dr. Dana asked that question and we had hoped that she had spent the 20 minutes that I was kept waiting & frightened in my carrier reviewing the medical history that we had brought with us. Dr. Dana left the room and came back a moment later with a technician. The technician started opening the top of my carrier, my human knowing how very frightened I was suggested that it might be better to open the front of the carrier (I wouldnt have been as frightened if I could see them) but the technician just said weve done this before, reached in and hoisted me out. Well, you may disagree but being as frightened as I was I hissed and screamed and reached out my claws for whatever was near to me. Dr. Dana jumped back (just in time, Id say...) and the technician pushed me back into my carrier and said thats it! Youre outta here!. Yup, I was thrown out of Fredon Veterinary Hospital for reacting as any cat might be expected to react when they are made to feel scared and helpless. I think Dr. Dana isnt a very good vet and Fredon Hospital should be ashamed of themselves for letting her be there.

I have been using them for over 15 years for my cats and dogs. They have been wonderful but in the past several years the quality of service has decreased, primarally due to the receptionist staff. They are very rude on the phone and not kind in person either. They open at 8 but never turn the phones on until 8:15. Today was the final straw myself as well as My family will be switching vets. My dog was having weezing so I called all morning until 8:17 when the phone was off of voice mail to make an appointment. They told me that with it being breathing related I should come in asap, the first appointment they had wasn't until 11:40. I called them to let them know I was running late and they told me I better drive faster my appointment is only 20 minutes long. I arrived at 11:47 and here I sit with my weezing and heavy breathing dog waiting to be seen. While waiting the receptionists are trash talking about clients who request specific doctors and then day if someone gives them an attitude or is not kind enough they will push off the appointment. Clients shouldn't complain about them giving an appointment a free days out for a sinus infection, even if they have openings the same day. The vet came in at 12:40 and was out by 12:50. I will be switching vets.

Rude and unprofessional

I have to say I liked the vets here but the receptionists made the whole experience hell. They are rude, never helpful, bitch, very unprofessional, and lack respect completely. These receptionists are going to ruin it for this practice. I've heard so many other bad reviews. My pets and I are back to where we belong seeing their usual vets where we are welcomed and respected. If you want a stressful vet visit every time and to deal with women who act like they are in high school still definitely go here they will not let you down. ☺✌😀

Worst experience ever! Rude receptionists that can't do their job properly. Take your money elsewhere to somewhere you will be welcomed! I don't know how this place stays in business with the lack of respect for their customers and lack of professionalism!

We have a trip planned to go internationally with our cat. We were given wrong information and no explanation as to who or why the mistake was made. The secretaries at this place are utterly incompetent and do not take responsibility for their actions. Now I have to wait on them to get more information and my flight is three days away. I don't know what to do as I have already payed hundreds on the travel fees for my cat. Terrible!

I was recommended to this place many years ago by a former employee that worked there. And I have to say, I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Dr. Grau is excellent, and I think once people started getting wind of this place, she was booked up. We now see Dr. Roche, and she is the only one (besides Dr. Grau) that my sheltie will go to. The facility is very clean, and they are very inexpensive for a vet's office. The only issue I have is that some of the women at the front desk are very rude, particularly, Marlo. Every time I go in, I pray that I do not get her during the check-out. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place. I drive about an hour to get there, when there are about 5 other vets (that I know of) closer to me!

No customer service

I was looking for information because I had a referral card from Noah's Ark to be neutered. Was very rudely told to hold on and then got hung up on. If that receptionist is a reflection as to how my cat was to be treated, no thank you. I went ahead and ordered a Friends of Animals certificate.

Fredon Animal Hospital Killed My Cat

Unfortunately this review is not positive, On 6/22/2011 , I brought my cat (Oreo) to Fredon. Oreo had a sore on his nose that formed a scab but wouldn't heal because he kept rubbing his nose. Linda Grau was on vacation and Dr, Steven Soergel was filling in. Oreo was given a steroid shot and a prescription for 125 mg of CLAVAMOX. At the time I did not know that the correct dosage for cats is 62.5mg twice a day (Pfizer states this) so basically I was giving Oreo a double dosage. I noticed that the sore would not form a scab after 3 days but didn't pay too much attention to it. The cat had another appointment on 6/28/2011 for a shaving (he's a long hair tuxedo cat). On 6/30/2011, we noticed that the cat was lethargic and had diarrhea. He was not eating nor drinking water. We called the vet and rushed Oreo in. They gave him a blood transfusion and kept him overnight. I picked him up on 7/1/2011 and they charged me $547. They gave me a number of meds for him including prednisone, doxycycline, cimtidine, and sucralfate. The poor cat would gag every time I gave him the medicine. On 7/2/2011, Oreo still was not eating and was lethargic. I called them and instead of telling to bring the cat in, they called back and said I should pick up the records so that I could bring him to another vet. This was a perfectly healthy cat that Fredon destroyed with their overdosing. On 7/3/2011, Oreo died at approx. 10:45am. He did not did peacefully....he cried out in pain and all we could do was hold him until his last breath. It was awful to see our beautiful once healthy cat die such a painful violent death. I am taking Linda Grau to small claims court and although I might lose...at least other people will be made aware of what Fredon did to my cat. Oreo was a wonderful pet...he was always purring and would lick your face. Fredon refuses to take responsibility for what they did. They destroyed his immune system. The fact is that if I never took Oreo to the vet on 6/22/2011, he would be alive today .....relaxing on top of the couch RIP OREOJuly 08, 2011
