Awesome dentist and great price

Dr.Chung and his staff are great. I dont know what this other person had going on but I too am an African American female and I have never been disrespected by ANYONE here. They actually allowed me to pay for half of my crown at one visit and pay the balance at the completion. They give you advice about caring for your teeth. I wouldnt go anyplace else to have dentistry work done. As a matter of fact, I chipped a tooth last night and I am calling as soon as I get done with this review to try and get it fixed.

My supervisor referred me to Dr. John Chung Family Dentistry located on Warwick Blvd in Newport News, VA. I am a new patient. I have only had three appointments. However, at each appointment after being seen, I am asked for my co-payment. The staff at the exit counter addresses me very disrespectfully with no regard to confidentially. With other patients at the counter and in a voice that can be heard over the office, they request my co-payment. At my last appointment, I was told by a staff member at the exit desk, that if I do not pay my co-pay at each visit, dental services will be denied me. I have good benefits as I work for a City government. I am not accustomed paying my co-payments until my claims are submitted and paid by my dental insurance; therefore, indicating my responsibility. Furthermore, I have not received a billing statement from Dr. Chung's office indicating my co-payments/responsibility for any of my appointments. I am a Black senior citizen who pays her bills in a timely manner. At my last visit, I was asked by one of the doctors in the office, "Are you on a payment plan", when I inquired about the procedure he would be performing on me that day. I wonder if all patients are treated so badly or is it just me. I am very satisfied with the services received by the health professionals. They are knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. This is the only reason I keep going back. However, I would like to be treated with respect and dignity.
