Newnan Utilities provides traditional utilities and communications and entertainment services for residents and businesses throughout Newnanand Coweta counties in Georgia. The company is a member of the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia. Through the MEAG partnership, Newnan Utilities has at its disposal a statewide generation and transmission corporation with ownership in four power plants in Georgia and a transmission system that spans the state of Georgia. It was the first cable provider in Georgia to offer digital video recording with an integrated cable set-top box that can automatically record up to 50 hours of programming. Newnan Utilities was also one of the first to offer high definition television services. It also offers high-speed Internet service, web hosting and domain registration services for businesses, organizations and individuals. Newlan Utilities was established in 1891 and maintains its headquarters in Newlan, Ga.
