Dont call this castle your home!!!!

If I were asked, I would NOT recommend this apartment complex. The office staff is lacking and the location is subpar- there is a cabinet manufacturing shop and a moving truck (Semi's, not a small moving truck) warehouse across the street. The cabinet shop starts every morning at 6 am...the semi warehouse noise is 24/7 and brings about some questionable persons.

You cannot trust the office staff- I was told when I notified them over ONE MONTH before the end of my lease that I would be doing one month as holdover rent and moving out at the end of that month. I was told okay, your account has been updated...when you're ready for the move out inspection come and get us.

Not true at all- there is a form you have to fill out a certain number of days before your lease ends. Granted this sounds normal, but when you are told TWICE by the office staff that you're good to go...you consider yourself good to go.

I guess I should have known better than to trust what they say--they are clearly lacking in their jobs*. When I was moving out I visited a handful of complexes and asked if their pools were open since mine hadn't been for over 6 months--yes, during heat wave this summer we had no pool. Did any resident get a discounted rent because a HUGE part of our community center was inoperable for far longer than any other apartment complex that I know of? HA! The manager chalked it to being a government issue...but in reality they are one of few complexes in the county without a pool for so long (most being under their parent company). All the apartments I spoke with said they had to harass King County to get the permits necessary to do to the mandated pool work--but they also said that was the least they could do for their residents since it was something they had little control of...and I agree. If you’re being charged for an included service, that service better work. And if the reason behind it not working is out of the control of the owner I want to see the owner acting to get stuff done.

Bottom line: there are so many complexes in the area...why put expensive risks on yourself unnecessarily? Beyond getting charged for one more month of rent I should have never had to pay, I lost 60% of my deposit on their cleaning fees- and was told that the apartment was impressingly clean by two staff, including the manager. I don't smoke--there was NEVER smoke in my apartment--yet I got charged over a hundred dollars for cigarette smoke odor and wall discoloration. I also got charged for cleaning blinds...but they also claimed they had to buy new ones. How does that work? They clean blinds they are going to throw away and charge you for it all??? Wow.

*I will say that the maintenance crew is great- blonde hair dude, you were the best. You take pride in your job and you are a stand up guy. I never got the run around from you and you were there lickety split when needed. A genuine thank you to you- you made our moving out day far less stressful than expected. I wish better thanks had gone to you at the time but I was far too concerned with holding back my intense anger at the bozo who royally screwed me.
