All in all we've had a good experience. Dr. Roure is thorough, pleasant, patient and a great doctor. However, we had a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Zhao (sp?) pronounced ZOW this past weekend when we had to page a doctor regarding my 5.5 month-old son's cough. She heard his cough over the phone, diagnosed him with croup and told us to go to the emergency room for a steroid shot right away. She asked me no background information and when I expressed surprise and questioned her 'diagnosis,' wanting to discuss the situation further because nothing about my son's condition seemed like an emergency situation, she was extremely rude to me and said that I was questioning her judgment as a Doctor, etc. I'm glad I did question her judgment and ultimately went with my gut and took my son for a walk-in appointment the following morning where another doctor in the same practice gave him an exam and said that he checked out and there was no need to give him a steroid shot at this point. The previous night when Dr. Zhao was warning me about stridor (a serious breathing condition associated with croup in babies) I expressed that my son was not experiencing this, she STILL directed me to take him to the emergency room. It felt as she was more interested in proving that she wasn't 'wrong' then actually listening to the situation and making a thoughtful judgement.
