A fun diner for people-watching in the West Village

My partner told me to go to the Waverly when I was visiting New York, and it was a fun experience. Their cheesecake is fantastic: fluffy and rich in the way only cheesecake in NYC can be.

The rest of the menu is standard diner fare. I had a good, dry omelet on one visit, but a so-so veggie burger another time.

Besides the cheesecake, the best thing about the Waverly is its location, right at a subway stop on a corner of 6th Avenue. It's full people at all hours, making it a fun place to people-watch the other customers and the people on the street.
