Purchased a pair of Newton running shoes March 15. Returned to the shop May 3, without receipt. Just showed the condition of the shoes after six weeks. Shop manager, without any request from me, immediately offered to replace the shoes. And so, I now have another pair of Newtons in my quest to become a good senior jogger. Was very impressed by shop manager Paul's reaction, a thowback to the days when "good will" was a top business asset. (These days, I have a hunch that the business schools regard "Henry F. Potter" -- the banker of "It's a Wonderful Life" -- as role model.) Definitely a five-star experience for me.
