It took a very long time to go through the appeals process and I was initially very frustrated trying to get a hold of Jessica but in the end it all worked out and we got a mistrial.

Police say a suspect wanted for murder out of Georgia is dead after he led officers on a chase and gun battle through Tampa Sunday afternoon.

The chase started just after 6 p.m. when the suspect was spotted driving a white Chevy Impala. He led police on a chase for several minutes on 275 and through Tampa streets. The suspect fired several times at police during the chase.

The pursuit ended at the intersection of E. 28th Avenue and N. 15th Street. Police say the suspect shot at officers as he attempted a carjacking. Officers returned fire, killing the suspect. No officers or bystanders were injured during the shooting.

Andrea Logan lives in the neighborhood, not far from the scene. She said her family was celebrating Easter with 40 members of her family when she heard the commotion.

"The kids were having a happy Easter egg hunt when we heard the helicopters and then we heard the sirens and the gunshots. We rushed all the kids in the house and next we heard somebody was dead in the streets."

Officers and troopers with FHP attempted CPR on the 41-year-old man before he died. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Chief Brian Dugan stressed that this is what his officers deal with on a daily basis.

"There is never a routine day for a police officer. Two weeks ago I was talking to you about our officers coming under gunfire. Thankfully in this case, our officers and community members were not hurt."

Interim Police Chief Sheila Rogers with the South Fulton Police Department in Georgia has identified the man shot as Timothy Wyatt. Rogers says her department believes Wyatt shot and killed his girlfriend and wounded her two juvenile sons.

For a week, as police in suburban Maryland searched for a missing, pregnant high school teacher, they grew convinced her boyfriend knew more than he was saying. Then they found the body of the teacher, shot once in the back of the head and buried in a shallow grave several hundred yards from where the boyfriend lived.

The boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, offered an explanation: Several men had kidnapped him and his girlfriend, Laura Wallen, killing her but sparing him.

Then he offered another, according to police: He and Ms Wallen had argued, and as she lunged at him, she ran into a wooden post and collapsed, appearing to be dead. He then buried her in a field. In trying to explain why she was found shot, they say Mr Tessier told them he had worried he might have buried her alive and fired one round at her to make sure she was not suffering.

The explanations offered by Mr Tessier - as spelled out in court documents recently filed by Montgomery County, Maryland, prosecutors - describe a homicide suspect who had painted himself into a corner. His version of why he shot Ms Wallen, according to filings first reported by WTOP, have him putting the weapon in his own hand.

Mr Tessier is scheduled to be tried in Ms Wallen's murder starting Sept. 4. Authorities say he killed Wallen after she tried to contact a different woman he was dating. Mr Tessier did so by luring Ms Wallen to the field, where he shot her and buried her, according to prosecutors. His attorney has said he is innocent.

Ms Wallen, who had lived in Olney, Maryland, went missing the weekend of 2 September after being last seen with Mr Tessier. She became the object of a massive, week-long search by police, including a news conference at which Mr Tessier pleaded for her return, addressing her directly and sitting beside her parents.

"Laura, if you're listening," Mr Tessier said in front of a bank of cameras, "it doesn't matter what's happened. It doesn't matter what type of trouble. There's nothing we can't fix together."

Ms Wallen, 31, was a social studies teacher at Wilde Lake High School in Howard County, Maryland, where she failed to show up for the first day of 2017 classes after several weeks of preparing her classroom.

On 13 September, two days after Mr Tessier's public appeal, police found Ms Wallen's body in the Damascus area of Montgomery County, arrested Mr Tessier and interrogated him.

How they questioned him, what they asked him and whether they improperly kept Mr Tessier from consulting a lawyer are at the root of the recently filed court documents.

In a 9 March filing, Mr Tessier's attorney, Allen Wolf, argued that Mr Tessier's statements while he was in the interrogation room should not be allowed as trial evidence.

Mr Wolf said in the filings that investigators zeroed in on his client early.

"Tyler Tessier became a target of police investigation almost immediately after his pregnant girlfriend, Laura Wallen, failed to reported to her job on the first day of school," Mr Wolf wrote. "Over the following week, police interviewed Mr Tessier on multiple occasions, both at the police station and at a Dunkin Donuts."

Each time, Mr Wolf wrote, Mr Tessier was allowed to leave.

After Ms Wallen's body was found, Mr Tessier was taken to police headquarters and handcuffed to a table in an interrogation room, Mr Wolf wrote, and eventually two detectives entered.

One detective asked: "Do you want to try to explain why her body wound up" in the field?

"Can I talk to my lawyer please?" Mr Tessier said, according to Mr Wolf's filing. "Can I talk to my lawyer?"

Mr Wolf said the detectives already knew that Mr Tessier was represented by an attorney, yet proceeded to talk him out of trying to speak with the lawyer.

I was caught on a case were I was a hostage. I a witness that testified against my co defend. The said knowing after the fact because I didn't tell I was a co inspired with my co defendent. They changed me along with my co defendent. The co defendent live right cross from me in Lake Mann apt one of my co defendent came to my home threatened my with a gun. But when we called the building, the 5th floor receptionist said there's no tenant by that name, never has been and that the landlord's legal team had already been notified about the office address's alleged misuse. When FOX 17 called The National Freedom Project, we were told we'd receive a call back from a manager. That call never came. So we called again weeks later. A woman identifying herself as 'Anna Stone' said due to attorney-client privilege she couldn't discuss Michael James. The National Freedom Project has an 'F' rating with the Better Business Bureau, and the BBB found mail to the New York address is 'undeliverable'. James said, "Now that I've experienced this, I would never call them again. I would never deal with them again, and I'd never go online and just Google something".
