Helia Ibarra-Alos M.D. is a Psychiatrist residing in Florida who received her medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico and New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and has been in practice for about 16 years. She completed her general psychiatry residency training at the University of Miami/ Miller school of medicine in Miami Florida, where she also completed a fellowship in Geriatric psychiatry. Dr Ibarra is tripled board certified in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and addiction medicine. Feels fortunate and humbled to having been exposed to different cultures throughout her life, as was raised between Latin America, the Caribbean, and US. She believes that each person is unique and has their own unique story that merits full attention and respect to really understand them. Gaining patients trust and forming a good relationship, along with providing the best possible evidence-base treatment options will lead to a better chance of patient improvement and therefore a better chance in life.
