No, no, no

I got scalped.

I have long blonde hair and I needed a trim, maybe a teeny bit of layering in the front. The guy here said he was going to make me look "sophisticated". He also kept asking who colors my hair (I don't color it) and kept wanting to sell me a dye job.

My sophisticated haircut ended up being a lop-sided grown-out mullet. I have an underneath layer of hair that is past my shoulders. Over that I was cut a layer of hair that extends chin-length. This layer goes all around my head -- except where it doesn't.

The layer is super thick on my right side and not there on the left. Schizo-cut. I get a headache every time I look in the mirror. I probably would have done a better job cutting my hair myself.

To top it off, I don't know what this guy was thinking or where he got his license: After the cut (and, of course I couldn't tell what was going on. I saw a lot of hair being raised and trimmed.) he starts to blow dry and says, "your hair is wavy!" Duh. "Never mind, this cut will work with wavy hair as well." (This is where I began getting worried. But the damage was done.)

Well, it doesn't (work well with wavy hair). The layer sticks out stupidly. (I've had layers before, cut so beautifully I'd get compliments on the street. That hairdresser is gone.)

I only saw the true state of my hair after I washed it a couple of days after my cut. Since then (nearly 5 weeks ago) I've been gently feeding my hair high-end conditioning products and brushing it with a brand new Mason-Pearson trying to both stimulate its regrowth and keeping any bit of it from becoming damaged so that it regains its length as quickly as possible.

Did I return to complain, you might ask. No, I did not. What would I gain? Perhaps an offer of another cut to fix the earlier mistake? Uh, uh. No thanks. I'm growing my hair, and I may not get it "professionally" cut again for a long, long time. I was bitten and I am very, very shy.
