Another one of those shady Uptown real estate brokerages. They advertise on Craigslist for "apartments by owner" which implies 'no-fee' but when you show up, they tell you there is a 15% brokerage fee, meaning if you apply for a $1500 one bedroom apartment, you will owe the brokerage about $3000. A dubious method for bringing traffic into the office to be certain. Beyond this, the salespersons have bad tempers and are generally nasty to even deal with. They seem very isolated from the professionalism you can expect when entering a real estate brokerage in another part of town, where the office is clean and the people relatively friendly. I would probably suggest to anyone in the market to just find a management company that will give you the same service and not take you for a $3000 ride. There are plenty of options for renters why put up with shoddy service at top dollar?
