Both of my kids had never had another pediatrician until we moved out of state. While getting my daughter settled with a new pediatrician I was informed she would have to have a HEP A vaccine at her 2yr appointment, confused by this as at her 18 month check she had gotten one. I called Volusia pediatrics to find out what’s in her shot records that is making her new pediatrician tell us this…we’ll come to find out they gave my rainbow baby her HEP A vaccine 2 MONTHS EARLY and now she’ll have to have it again!!! I asked the nurse who’s telling me this what steps are taken after finding this out, she said nothing, she’ll be fine. Like it’s no big deal to give a baby a vaccine when she shouldn’t of gotten it. Look I get it my daughters okay and the only thing is that I’ll have to go through is her having another shot and the backlash that happens with that. But wow, what if it was a life or death decision, what if it wasn’t a vaccine that was safe to get sooner than recommended. She’s lucky, we’re lucky! I asked to speak with someone to report this. After being on hold for 10 minutes I was transferred to office manager Ashley and she was extremely helpful, and she let me know it’s not common and that Dr. Garcia would be informed. Dr. Garcia is who my son has seen for almost 8 yrs. if you bring you child to Volusia Pediatrics I would only recommend Dr. Garcia, as the rest of the PA’s or what have you call them aren’t interested in checking records or confirming if shots are needed. I should’ve checked and double checked that it was right.

Our entire family loves this place. The Doctors and staff are nothing but cordial and caring and the office itself is clean and inviting. Our four year old actually looks forward to coming here. He has been coming here since he was born and except for a bit of drama with vaccinations, etc., he loves coming here. If we could give 10 stars we we certainly would! In this case, the best has just kept on getting better. More doctors, more staff, all very loving and all very service oriented and friendly. They have even added an extensive breastfeeding support counselor and associated services that we wish had been available 4 years ago for our family Mom. She would have loved it! Anyway, you know that they offer tours so you can meet some staff, see how the practice is set up and get a feel for the place before making any commitment. We recommend Volusia Pediatrics to everyone with kids that we meet. Check them out...they really are the best in Volusia County. And did I mention explanations? They actually take their time and answer all of your questions. As caring grand parents, we love that! Highly recommended!
