Center for Small Jewels Inc ( CSJ ) was established in 1998 by Cheryl Small Jackson. Its mission is to offer specialized high quality evaluative and therapeutic services to infants, children, and adolescents. We assist them in reaching their highest learning potential. All of our programs include the family because we believe that parent participation is key to a child's success. The CSJ professionals have worked with thousands of children from the tri-state area helping them make improvements in their speech, language, cognitive, motor and social skills.Cheryl Small Jackson is the Founder and Executive Director of the CSJ. Cheryl is an expert in the field of speech and language pathology. Over the past 28 years Cheryl has worked tirelessly with children and families in a variety of settings helping them to find their voices and to communicate more effectively with others.Cheryl is an expert in the field of speech-motor disorders ( e.g. Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Dysarthria ) and oral motor feeding disorders. Cheryl is one of the few PROMPT - Certified Clinicians in Westchester county. She is actively involved in teaching, mentoring and supporting the research of the PROMPT Institute. At her center, Cheryl has been integrating PROMPT into her practice with children since 1999. She has trained and mentored hundreds of Speech and Language Pathologists around the country. In addition, Cheryl has trained parents on PROMPT philosophy and technique.
