Custom-Bilt Metals was incorporated in 1974 in response to the need for a distributor of rainware products to the seamless gutter industry in Southern California. After four short years, we realized that other markets on the West Coast would react favorably to a philosophy of quality and service. Our first expansion was to Seattle, then to Northern California. Portland and Phoenix soon followed. As we matured, we added Standing Seam metal roofing to our product line, employing the same concept of onsite roll forming that brought the gutter industry the success it enjoys today. At that time, we established our position with the highest quality products and unequalled service. In 1990, we recognized the need to distribute multiple profiles in the metal roofing, shingle and shake industry. Our latest expansions include Spokane in 1994, and Honolulu in 1996. Custom-Bilt Metals has always been determined to lead the way on environmental sustainability through innovation. In 2002, in partnership with BASF, we introduced the ULTRA-Cool coating system to our full product line of metal roofing. As an ENERGY STAR Partner, Custom-Bilt Metals meets the specification for cool roofs. In 2004, with the growth of the residential and commercial metal roofing industry, Custom-Bilt Metals had the opportunity to purchase the rights to manufacture and sell the VAIL Metal Shingle. The VAIL Metal Shingle is the industry's most recognized metal roofing shingle product, which includes the choices of true copper, and painted steel. Our management team has unparalleled experience in the construction industry. Each of our branches is directed by a general manager with the knowledge and authority to satisfy our customer's needs. We are currently members or sponsored by the following affiliations: ENERGY STAR Partner, Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA), National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA), Construction Services Institute (CSI), Metal Construction Association (MCA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Roofing Consultants Inc (RCI), and General Contractors Association of Hawaii (GCAH).
