Accrotool was founded as Accro Tool Enterprises in 1972. The company was established when Bill Phillips and Van Gruber purchased two used machines and began making dies for manufacturing companies near Pittsburgh. The company s location in a heavy industrial area provided ready markets and access to special services such as heat treating and plating. In 1985, the company expanded into computerized numerically controlled production machining, sheet metal fabrication and stamping. Another major expansion took the company into computerized numerically controlled punching and laser cutting during 1995. In 2003, a four headwater-jet cutting machine was acquired. Accrotool is located in New Kensington, Pa.
