I established NewLine Massage and Wellness in 2015. After working for 10 years as a digital project manager, I sought a profession that more tangibly helps people improve their quality of life. After witnessing massage aid a loved one in a hospice situation, I saw that even the lightest touch could give patients peace and relaxation. I began my massage education soon after, enrolling at The SOMA Institute in Chicago, IL before my partner and I moved to Minneapolis where I continued my studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University. I feel that this career and life-direction change is one of the best decisions I've ever made. NewLine's practice includes several massage techniques such as Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage, Trigger Point/Rehabilitative and Swedish-Style Relaxation. Massages are focused and personalized to each client's unique needs so he or she receives the highest benefits from the experience. About the Therapist: I am a National Board Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist (BCTMB) and a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist (CNMT) who practices within the integrative healthcare system. I treat clients with a variety of needs, including acute pain, injury and surgery recovery or simple relaxation and restoration. My clients are both referrals from fellow healthcare practitioners and individuals who simply understand and enjoy the benefits of massage and/or aromatherapy solutions. My background and deep interest in aromatherapy has been further refined as I near completion of my training to become a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist through The East-West School for Herbal & Aromatic Studies. I am a Certified Member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and an Aromatherapy Advocate Member of the National Association of Holisitc Aromatherapy (NAHA).Services provided: Therapeutic massage includes trigger point therapy, Swedish-style relaxation and sports massage. These techniques are excellent at relieving cramped and overused muscles, reducing tension, taming stress and improving general body pain. It's also useful for treating more serious issues, such as injury recovery, improving range of motion and increasing muscle function.Neuromuscular Therapy uses a variety of trigger point techniques to provide a lasting solution for your muscular problems. Typically, I include this method in your plan if you suffer from chronic symptoms. Reduced or eliminated pain is the end result of neuromuscular therapy. It's also helpful for treating acute injuries or post-surgical care. For dancers and athletes, it's an excellent way to proactively strengthen areas to avoid injury.Cupping therapyCupping therapy is an ancient technique with a 5,000-year history. It combines massage and negative pressure with the help of a suction device put on your skin. Each cup gets placed in the targeted area and I create a vacuum to draw the skin and tissue up. Your blood and lymphatic circulation increases and your muscles relax. Stagnation, pathogenic factors and waste by-product are also removed from the body.Sports massage uses a customized combination of massage techniques to help your body feel free and strong. It shares many similarities to Swedish massage, but the primary focus on this method is centered on injury prevention and treatment. If you're involved in sports or similarity intensive activities, this is an excellent choice.
