I highly recommend Capture Salon.

Hector and Alex are amazing. I had given up on my hair after having treatments for cancer, but they have given me hope and a new outlook. Hector took the time to listen, really listen and hear my concerns and the problems I was having with my hair. After our conversation he went to work and literately transformed my hair into something beautiful. Hector really made me feel like a whole woman again. Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough.

Hector and Alex also took the time to talk and offer support. They are both truly amazing people.

The entire staff in the salon are professional and provide great service.

My cancer treatment was causing my hair to thin, to the point where it was time to consider a wig. I didn’t know quite where to start, with so many options and prices to choose from. I was concerned about it looking natural, and being affordable.



Hector made it a painless process. From the first visit, he took the time to explain different options, including how to care for my existing hair, and what type of look I was going for. He then located a wig that matched my needs, and did a beautiful job styling it.



My hair looks so good now, some of my friends who are not cancer patients want to get one!



As others have said, Hector is not just a great stylist, but his upbeat and empathetic personality actually takes a difficult life moment and makes it a fun experience.



I highly recommend Hector to anyone is considering a wig. You will leave the salon looking and feeling great!

I have been having eyelash extensions for the past 18 months at various salons and was delighted to find a great salon offering the service in New Haven rather than having to travel as far as New York to find a good enough service. Hector Cruz did a magnificent job of applying natural looking lashes that were well applied and the perfect length for my eyes. This teamed with a mini make over made me leave the salon feeling fantastic. Hector Cruz really knows his trade and this means you are never disappointed when leaving the salon, and always can be reassured you will leave looking fabulous. Can't rate him highly enough!

Losing my hair created enormous angst until I walked into Capture Salon and met Hector Cruz. Hector is an upbeat and empathetic stylist who cared and shared. Alex, the creator of Capture, provides a comfortable and private room for consultations. During my first visit with Hector we (including a friend) talked about options and suggestions; the second (also with a friend) was to try on the pieces that Hector had ordered; and, my third visit (by that time I was so comfortable with Hector, no friend required) was to have my head shaved and my new hair and styled while on me. All these visits were complimentary. Having the opportunity to meet several other women at Yale who Hector and Capture helped, my experience is not singular-we all had a comforting and uplifting experience. I hesitate to say I enjoyed the visits but it is true, I went through the process feeling cared for and special and most especially beautiful.

Yesterday I had a wig consultation with Hector. He made an uncomfortable situation easy. His pleasant personality and knowledge gave me peace of mind knowing I have made the right choice. I will be back and encourage anyone going through chemo to see Hector for help. You will get personalized service and a quality product.

I absolutely love going to capture salon. I have bounced from salon to salon. I was recommended to Hector Cruz by a good friend and I will never go anywhere else or to anyone else. I always leave completely satisfied. I have always had to "get used" to my new hair cuts and colors, until now. It is a great feeling to walk out of the salon LOVING my new look.

I wanted hair extensions and finally met Hector Cruz at Capture Salon which is a beautiful salon. Hector put extensions in my hair and did a fabulous job. He gave my daughter highlights color and a beautiful Cut. If You want to look your best call Hector Cruz at Capture Salon!

This place is gorgeous! They opened recently but did a bang up job fixing up the place. First class!

I went around 5pm on a Thursday and parking wasn't too bad. That's the only negative I found, if you consider that a negative - limited parking.

I walked in with extra-long scraggily hair. I had serious split ends going on. Between school and work I hadn't had a haircut in over 2 years. I was nervous to lose length but I also knew it would just get worse if I didn't get all the split ends off now (some split almost halfway up the shaft)!

Hector Cruz confirmed this for me and made me feel comfortable with it. He did a FANTASTIC job. My hair went from long, thick, wavy, frizzy and split to medium-long and totally healthy. He used a PH balancer which did wonders.



Is this an upscale place? Totally. But you get what you pay for and honestly, I thought it was a great value (that's coming from a girl who has gone to SuperCuts all her life).



Everyone was super friendly and I felt really comfortable, which was surprising because I usually feel out of place in upscale places.



Bonus: Hector works with cancer patients! That was really awesome to me. I want to grow out my hair to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths now! If you want to support a great cause like that this is totally the place to go.



I know this probably sounded like an advertisement (I swear it's not - I'm a teacher, haha) but I will definitely be going here from now on (and more often than once every 2 years)!

I had a wig consultation with Hector Cruz today and he was FABULOUS! He made a very anxiety-inducing experience of choosing a wig due to hair loss from chemotherapy, an easy and pleasant experience. His knowledge of hair and wigs, and his empathy for cancer patients made him the perfect person to guide me through this experience.

I have had terrible luck in New Haven finding a good stylist, so it has been about 8-10 months since my last terrible haircut. But this morning, after a few not-so-subtle comments from a friend about my desperate need of at least a trim, I decided to suck it up and try a new place. Capture had great reviews on Yelp and I walked passed the beautiful building many times a week and was curious. I called and got an appointment within a few hours with Hector Cruz. He RULES. So professional, warm, efficient and he gave me the first good haircut I have had in YEARS. He listened to what I wanted and delivered the goods.

The salon itself if absolutely gorgeous and inviting and they are very accommodating. I would recommend this place, and definitely Hector, to any and all of my friends.

What a difference extensions make!!! I LOVE my new hair it feels and looks great, so natural no one knows I have them. They last much longer than expected and don't fall out. Taking care of my hair is easier than I imagined too. Thanks to Hector Cruz for my new look!! It took 10 years off my face, my friends thought I had a face lift!!!!!!

say enough good things about this place! In the past year i got caught up in the "i need to dye my hair all the time!" Craze. I never had the money to get my hair professionally done because its so thick and long, so i did it myself. Recently i bleached my hair from purple to straight up bleach blonde. After a few months i grew tired of it and decided to go back to dark red. I box dyed it and... It came out atrocious. Had no idea what was wrong. My mother recommended Capture salon to me. I was soooo embarrassed to go outside.



First let me say, i thought i walked into some kind of dream land upon entering! This place is gorgeous. They were very busy, but were extremely nice despite the hectic time i walked in. i didnt have to wait long and i explained my story to them. I think they almost cried when they saw my hair. I had nearly destroyed it, and they had a lot of work to do!



Hector was my saviour however! It took the rest of the day to repair the damage i jad done, lots of filling and coloring and awesome banter between myself and the staff, a much needed cut, but Hector completely transformed my damaged hair into something manageable and gorgeous. Not only did i walk out of the salon feeling fablous, i felt i was a part of a family who really cared about me.



I would recommend this salon to everyone for anything they need! they do an amazing job with their services as well as making you feel right at home!
