We just moved into a home and had a full inspection done for the home's two fireplaces by another licensed and certified professional. Flame tech used scare tactics to try to get us to replace almost all our fireplace components when all that was needed was a pilot light assembly. Since we did not want to pay close to $1,000 for something that cost between $25 and $80 we were forced to pay the dispatch fee. If I did not already have a full professional inspection and complete documentation detailing and combating every single issue the Flame Tech “found” then I may have been taken advantage of and tricked into paying for the service. The Flame Tech sales guy tried multiple times to say that our original inspection had no merit and that the company that performed the inspection was unfit to do so and did so incorrectly to attempt to back his own outrageous claims that we would be in danger if we did not agree to all the work. Flame tech will most likely say something along the lines of "we legally cannot allow your fireplace to operate unsafely", because of what their technician diagnosed. It's one thing to run a business in that way but to claim to know more than another certified and licensed expert in order to make a buck is uncalled for. I appreciate the effort but, the truth is this probably happens many times – I would steer clear. The difficult part is that because of the way they word the pitch they will be protected to continue to operate in this fashion.

I am extremely impressed with the Technician and the company. They are extremely professional & knowledgeable. Not only did they fix my fireplace (it looks & works better than it ever did), they also educated me in what I had & proper use/features of my fireplace. I was so impressed with their knowledge & professionlism, they will be installing a new Fireplace in another room. I have found a wonderful service company & only wish I found them sooner.
