Great place to shoot. Clean and the unlimited range time vs by the hour can not be beat. Recently purchased a new shotgun on their website and staff was easy to work with and buying experience was great. As a member, I have nothing but good things to say about this facility.

Very sad place to shoot the staff is rude and pretentious. It reminds me of walking into best buy. Throughout these reviews you can tell all the staff members that have come on and posted 5 start ratings. The range is a very nice range it is clean but when you have counter commandos who act like your bothering them even though your paying their salary by doing business there it just really isn t worth it. Vance s is building a new range in Obetz and there is the newly built Bullet Ranch on Broad St in Pataskala the staff there are extremely friendly and helpful and before one of the AimHi employees comes on here NO I DO NOT WORK THERE. At both stores they sell you brand new in box firearms not display items that possibly hundreds of people have handled (no telling what they could have done with the gun). Too many choices out there than to be forced to deal with the counter commandos at AimHi.

This was a 3 night course done over 3 consecutive nights, from 6-9 PM. The staff taught a great course - it was safe, fun and I learned some very valuable handgun skills. This a great course to take after your CCW class.

I've had many mediocre experiences with the New Albany Shooting Range (AIM HI) over the years. Because of geography I have often given them a chance to earn my business. Usually I've ended up wasting my time. I'm writing this review because of my last and probably final experience.

I went in during off hours. There was one customer at the gun counter and one of staff was helping him. There were three other staff members behind the counter talking to each other. I tried not to judge negatively as I stood there right at the counter waiting to be helped while they talked to each other. A few minutes later the one customer leaves. The staff member that had been helping him was standing right in front of me. He looked down and started reading some sort of form. I got no "hello" or "we'll be with you in just a minute" or even a "was there anything you would like to see". Just me standing there for five minutes while the staff stood by and ignored me. To say I was frustrated was an understatement!

Speaking more generally about my experiences here is what I have found.

Pricing: Not good at all. Most other stores in central Ohio are cheaper on both ammo and Guns. I've not shot at many ranges because I'm able to do it outside but when I've gone in the winter it just seems cost prohibitive. All sorts of different areas where they seem to get you. Also as I've shopped all around Columbus during the recent shortages Aim HI earns its name because they are the worst price gougers I've seen!

Selection: I guess if they have what you want then you're OK as long as you're willing to pay a premium price. The problem is they don't have much. Vances or Gander Mountain in Reynoldsburg have 10+ times the selection. One of the "gun experts" told me that they only carried guns and equipment that they deemed both quality and reliable. I brought that up when I went in and saw that they were selling Pro Mags, one of the most unrealiable magazines ever made for the AR platform for $30 (Nearly 3x what they are worth).

Bottom line: I spend thousands of dollars on shooting sports every year and I will drive by Aim Hi on the way to other places where I will be treated fairly and with respect. Too many other good Gun stores in town to waste my time here.

I would like to take a moment to talk about New Albany shooting range (AimHI). I was scheduled for a NRA instructor’s course Feb. 23 &24. I had paid for this course in FULL some time in January. Received my book and Pre-qualification documents. I called them (2-13-13) to do verification about the class and was told that I and others were removed from the class because they were overbooked. They NEVER notified me of a problem, still had my money, and I would not have known I was out of the class until I showed up had I not called. I have never experienced such lack of professionalism in the firearms industry in my life. This lack of professionalism is shameful way to do business. Shame on you you, New Albany Shooting Range. You are pathetic, unorganized, and a disgrace to our industry. I cannot fathom treating a client like this. R.C. - NRA certified Range Safety Officer.

I had a rifle I wanted to sell...

I had a rifle I wanted to sell on consignment and decided to trust this store with the transaction. As they pocket 20% of the sale price, it was my expectation that we shared an interest in getting a strong sale price. Yet, within 24-hours of dropping it off I was told it sold---at about ½ the price I’d been led to expect at the sales counter. Why the low price? Why was the sale so quick? I called and was told that ONE OF THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES had decided to buy the gun (yes, at a price of his choosing). Not only that, but it turned out to be the very guy I'd handed the rifle to at the counter! Despite my protest over the phone, management said they "couldn't do anything about it," beyond giving me a verbal apology and two free passes for range time. A couple of weeks later I decided make use of those 'gift' passes ($20/ea.) and so returned to the range. There, I was informed that they “had no record of my prior membership” and that I'd have to pay for a safety class and membership before using my 'free' passes. I'd been going there for years! I had purchased several guns there! While initially nicely appointed, the place has really gone downhill and is now staffed by collection of arrogant thick headed dummies that take pride in ripoffs. There are much better facilities in the surrounding area. STAY AWAY.

Nice place to shop and visit. ...

Nice place to shop and visit. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about guns. They were very helpful in selecting a gun that was right for me. We did end up taking their CCW class and it was done very well. We got to shoot a pistol and revolver in a bunch of calibers. But the best thing was shooting in the dark and with a laser. Free coffee and lounge and observation window to see in the ranges was fun too. Definitely the best place to shop in Columbus.
