I will try to be short and sweet. My two dogs have been at boarding facilities in the past(just moved here from Michigan) I walked into The Dog Stop to be met at the door with the most rancid order I have ever encountered...still I left my two vacinated dogs there. They were there for 5 days. I picked them up and the next day had to be taken to the vets. There I was informed that my dogs had picked up Kennel Cough and had to be placed on antibotics and also given fluids for extreme dehydration. Called The Dog Stop and was informed there had been no other cases of this(I find that hard to believe) I have since heard from others similar stories. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR DOGS THE AGGRAVATION AND VET BILLS AND LOOK ELSEWHERE.

My husband and I are huge fans of the Dog Stop! Our last dog, Lucy, was adopted from a shelter and had "special needs," she was afraid of everything and a little grouchy. The Dog Stop was the only place we felt comfortable leaving her because the staff was so attentive and caring. Lucy never had a stressful stay at the kennel after the Dog Stop opened and we were so thankful for the piece of mind while we were away!

Now we have a new puppy and she goes to the Dog Stop daily to play. Prior to going to the Dog Stop (even with a daily dog walker), she was eating our recycling and digging huge holes in the backyard. Now she can't wait to get in there in the morning and when we pick her up she is tired and sleeps through the night to recharge for the next day.

Thank you Chris and Jesse and all of your wonderful and knowledgeable employees! You're the best!

Be sure and go in the back, se...

Be sure and go in the back, see the play areas and boarding areas. We boarded our dogs there for several days prior to July 4, 2011. We had taken our 8 month old lab there for Day Camp 3 days prior to boarding. I picked up all of our dogs on July 3 and several days later our lab began coughing, was lethargic and feverish. We took her to the vet and learned by xray that she had double pneumonia and kennel cough. She had been vaccinated the end of May. We informed the Dog Stop and was told by the kennel Mgr. that they never had a case of kennel cough. We learned, after the fact, from a neighbor that his dog contracted it there in February.

Several days after our lab became ill we had to take our Cairn to the Emergency Hospital as she had similar symptoms and our vet was closed. We tried on several occasions to speak with the owner of the kennel and was told repeatedly by the kennel mgr that she was the person we needed to talk with.

I had not visited the back of the kennel where the dogs played until the day I picked them all up. I was shocked at how hot it was in the back. It had to be at least 90 degrees. I assumed since they advertise themselves as "climate controlled" that it would be as cool as the front of the place is but I was wrong. I was told large exhaust fans cool the play area as well as the upstairs boarding area. It was anything but cool when I was there. Kennel cough can be spread by poor circulation. I also saw a conveyor belt and was told that was how they got some of the dogs up to the sleeping areas. They also use a door on the outside of the kennel if a dog is fearful of the belt.

One of the other concerns I had that related to cleanliness, occurred when an attendant came out with a wet mop and no bucket to wipe up urine from one of the dogs. He wiped up the urine and carried the dripping mop, without bucket into the back.

We still have not heard from the owner of the clinic inspite of having asked several times. The kennel mgr called several times to see how our dogs were but would never give us access to the owner. Although extremely convenient, I would never be able to recommend Dog Stop for either Day Camp or boarding.
