As an author of children?s books, my goal is to create entertaining stories that will nurture a love for reading and help children to discover the magic of books so that they make them their treasured friends.Although the books are written on a third grade independent reading level, they are suitable as read-aloud tales for younger children. The realistic fiction, the bright colorful illustrations the less dense text and the controlled vocabulary will appeal to The child who is challenged by the reading process and embarrassed to be seen reading a book considered ?babyish? for his grade level. In addition,parents and teachers who want to nurture positive attitudes, instill values, build good character traits and encourage creative thinking will find that these realistic fiction stories will provide them with opportunities to educate, explore, develop and discuss a variety of topics and issues. They will also serve as complements to other curriculum subjects.
