I dropped and broke into 3 pieces, a Corian type, way too heavy for such an application, RV dinette table. There were 2 very clean, long diagonal breaks, all the way across the width of the table.

Knowing that Corian is quite repairable, I called several Corian repair businesses that I found at http://yellowpages.com for the Sacramento area. Each told me they only fix small chips and scratches.

I then went to a cabinet shop to have a new tabletop made. They recommended I talk to Marty at Powell Countertops, telling me that he does excellent work.

Talking to Marty on the phone he thought, that since the breaks were clean, he could fix it to where it would hardly show. He assured me that he has a lot of experience in working with such materials and that he should be able to fix it at a reasonable price. We made an arrangement for me to drop it off at his employee's house in Woodland, which is where I do most of my shopping.

I dropped the table off last Friday and then called Marty to express my concern that the repair had to be strong enough to hold up to a heavy person leaning onto the table while getting in or out of the dinette, or putting a knee in the middle of it while it's down in the bed position. He said he'd back it up with plywood and thought it should be fine. Having been assured that he was very good, I fought off the urge to call him back requesting that he use 3/8" plywood and the very best glue he had, that I doubted that 1/4" plywood would be strong enough, and asking him if he could have it done by this coming weekend.

Monday afternoon (yesterday), I got a call that the table was ready and we arranged for me to pick it up at his employees house on my way back to Arbuckle from Sacramento. I was impressed that the entire bottom of the table had been laminated with 1/2" plywood.

I just put the table on the spare bedroom's bed, opened the shades, and I have a problem. Knowing where the table was broken, I HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING THE SPOTS, ON THE CORNERS, WHERE THE TABLE WAS REPAIRED AND I CAN'T SEE ANY OF THE REPAIRED CRACKS ON THE TABLETOP!

I couldn't be happier. THAT TABLE WILL BE A CONVERSATION PIECE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME!
