Carl Ownby and Company was established in November of 1952. Carl had been employed at Cash Hardware for twenty years when he decided to form his own business. Carl Ownby and Company was opened at it is present location on property purchased from Brown Cabinet Company. Additional property on Main Street has expanded the physical facilities to include three buildings and warehouses. Lumber storage capabilities were increased when the company purchased the Mize Lumber Company property on Chapman Highway.
