I recently got 2 different cashier's checks from Navy FCU when I went to cash the first one they confirmed that it was fake. Well a week later I received another one but it was totally different from the first one so I called the NFCU in Merrifield, Va to confirm that this one was real. The customer service rep confirmed this cashier's check as being good and I would be able to cash the check with no problem. Well, I deposited the cashier's check in my son's account at Wachovia and now they have put a hold on my son's account plus told him he would never be able to get another account with Wells Fargo nor Wachovia due to they think this cashier's check is a fraud. What good does it do to call a bank over a cashier's check if they aren't going to tell you the correct information to start with. I verified the account number and the amount it was written for with your bank only to be told I would go to jail for having a fraudulent cashier's check. Needless to say I'm pissed over this! If you can't trust that bank to check properly on something who do you trust? I am so upset with your bank that I can hardly see straight. Plus I'll have to go thru all this with the police department so that I'm not charged with forgery. Is there anything that can be done when an employee tells you something like this and then charge me with forgery? If so I'd appreciate some input on this subject.
