Dr. and staff provided very good service. I did not wait long. I have always been aware that Dr. does not always know what tests and services my particular insurance covers. I have sent several friends and relatives.

Excellent Orthopedic Surgeon in Saint Louis. This doctor has a Felowship in Spinal Surgery. Hard to find a better doctor for neck or back problems like a disk herniation. If surgery, injections or other treatment is needed, this doctor is highly recommended. Office staff is great as well. Good place to be for medical care!

Had 2 visits with this dr. and can honestly say I saw about 4 minutes of him at the very maximum. The front desk staff is the absolute worst I've ever come across. Extremely rude. Clearly just want to find things to charge you for. A completely miserable experience thanks especially to "Mary" that works the phones and occasionally the desk.

Waited over 30 minutes past my appt. time in the waiting room on my first visit. Was given misleading information by administrative staff regarding billing.

This Dr. took care of me when another Dr. operated on me and after I lost my insurance, dropped me. He told me that my chances for a repeat surgery being successful was not great, but I have had an excellent result. His staff was great. I send all of my friends who have spine or orthopedic problems to him...

He is THE BEST

I am embarrassed for all of you who speak of Dr Mirkin this way. Five years ago that man saved my life when I had a staph infection in my spine that dozens of other doctors ignored. If not for Dr Mirkin I would be dead today. He fought to get me taken care of, dealt with my insurance company, treated me with NOTHING BUT RESPECT and even yelled at a hospital nurse when an important test he ordered was not done when it should have been. He is a great Dr. and while he may not be the most warm and fuzzy guy upon first meeting, he does have a warm and sweet personality. I recently, by no choice of of my own, had a faulty back surgery and KNEW I should have gone to Dr Mirkin, but didnt, I am paying for it now. I will never trust another spine doc again. Doctor Mirkin and his staff are the best and he cares more than any doctor I have ever known. So before you all put his career in the toilet with your mean spirited reviews, just know that man saved my life when no one else gave a damn. I would recommend him above anyone I have ever gone to and I have seen a lot of doctors in the past several years.

happy patient

Very caring, respectful Dr. Told me the pros and cons of options. Very satisfied with outcome. Dr. is not a pill pusher and strongly reccomends patients get off pain medicines and cigarettes. Staff is fantastic. Much better office than competition down the street.

Depends on what you want....

Mirkin is a decent surgeon. Probably a 6 1/2 on a scale of 1-10. He is unlikely to make a terrible mistake and it SEEMS he is well informed. However, he is an arrogant jerk. He acts like he's doing you a favor by gracing you with his presence. He is very condescending. He performed my neck surgery a few years ago and although I am relatively satisfied with the results, I was very disappointed with the process. He NEVER managed my pain, in fact, he ignored it. He promised I would not be in pain after the surgery, which was a lie, then he refused to treat it. He was very rude to my husband, who, yes, does ask a lot of questions. All of my husbands questions were relevant, however, and my husband likes to understand everything. Post-Op was awful too. He gave us little instruction and seemed annoyed when we didn't know what to do. I actually caught him rolling his eyes when he thought we weren't looking! I always planned on writing this review, then my aunt went to see Mirkin for a consultation and reminded me of how disappointed I was with him. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend him because you can find another surgen just as good, if not better, than him who will treat you with respect. FOR MIRKINS STAFF: if you read this, maybe you should stop making excuses for him, and actually acknowledge his faults. Maybe if you spoke to him about it, he would work on his "bedside manner" because after 3 years, it sounds like he hasn't changed one bit!

Tesson Ferry Spine (Dr. Mirkin)

Staff was great. Tests were set up and I was informed of results. Dr. explained procedure, alternatives. I had a good result and experience.
