Why I chose Lon Smith Roofing as my roofer. Mark Ruddis the estimator arrived for the appointment on-time and ready to inspect my roof. He inspected my roof, provide an estimate to replace the roof. After we reviewed the estimate, we discussed up grades next, I compared his estimate to the insurance company’s assessment had two other estimates plus several roofers knocked on my door. All but one of the other roofers either tried to convert me to a different shingle, ask me to give them a copy of the insurance company estimate—maybe they needed the insurance company to identify the damage and tell them how much it would cost to repair. I want their estimate not a regurgitated version of the insurance company assessment of the damage.

I trust that Ron Smith Roofing uses up-to-date building science, roofers that are properly trained, nail guns that are properly calibrated, and installs all the materials as specified by the manufacturer. The day Lon Smith roofers arrived so did Mario Rodriguez we checked the material to see if it was correct and he was in contact with the roofers during the day and returned at the end of the day to review a 20-point checklist with me to ensure that the work was done properly. I am extremely pleased with my new roof, as well as the professional and responsive way it was accomplished. I can honestly say I highly recommend Ron Smith Roofing for anyone that needs a roof.

This is our 2nd Lon Smith roof (thank you Texas hail!) and we were just as satisfied with their awesome service and quality. Thank you to Mark Ruddis, Mario Rodriguez and crew for taking care of us! Lon Smith is extremely efficient and respectful of your home during and after installation. We'll use them again if we have to and would highly recommend to anyone we know!

I had no idea who to go with for our new roof. It seemed after the crazy hail storm everyone was getting replacement roofs. There were as many contractors cruising the neighborhood looking for the roofing job as people that lived in Allen, TX! They were everywhere. What to do? I called my insurance company, State Farm, and asked my rep who they would use. I knew if my insurance company trusted them I could. Lon Smith Roofing is what I was told. You have to trust somebody and I surely wasn't going to give the job to some company with out of state plates and no reputation. I had a great experience with Matt the salesperson handling everything from the start with the insurance company and adjuster all the way through until the job was complete. Mario was the foreman and he actually knew a lot more about getting the work completed correctly than anyone I've met before. 5-Stars and I would and have recommended Lon Smith to my brother who purchased a roof from them and another house we have was completed by them which is a rental unit near by. Good Job Lon Smith and this review was well earned and deserved.

After realizing that I needed a new roof and insurance was not going to help, I went through the dreaded process of finding an honest, efficient, affordable roofing company. I found all of that and more in Lon Smith Roofing. They did an awesome job, with Britt leading the way. They got it done quickly and professionally. They followed up afterwards to make sure everything was done and cleaned up well. Which it was. 5 stars for Britt and Lon Smith Roofing!

This is the second roof we have had Lon Smith Roofing put on our roof. Kelly Williams helped get the process started very quickly and the roof was replaced very fast. They are extremely professional and when it comes time to replace our roof again they will be the only call we make. We trust them and they deliver. I like the fact that they send an inspector out after the roof is on to make sure all is well with the work.
You can definitely trust Lon Smith Roofing to do a great job!

I would not recommend Lon Smith to anyone! It took my salesman FIVE WEEKS from the time the contract was signed to bring a promised sample of awning material to me. The roofers left a huge mess on my patio and furniture – dirt, dust and shingle debris – and I had to call them back to clean it up. When I called their contracted painter to cover up the nail pops in my ceiling, he told me he would call me the following Monday. THREE WEEKS later, he returned my call to set up an appointment. The painter had no respect for my personal property, dropping his jacket and a paint brush on my kitchen floor, and setting a paint can on my kitchen counter without a rag or cloth underneath it to keep from scratching my countertop. Also, neither my salesman nor anyone else told me they would be changing out my dryer vent with an ugly monstrosity of their choosing, so I asked to see someone to make a change. More time went by and I was told the company would not warranty any other vent but the one they installed, and all they could do was install a smaller version of the ugly one. The vent installer showed up on a Monday morning without an appointment or calling ahead. Then I had an allergic reaction to the paint on the new vent and was having trouble breathing, possibly needing to spend the night in a motel. When I told the customer (dis)service manager about it, he just asked for my payment since – with the dryer vent install – the work was finally completed after two months. All he – or anyone else at Lon Smith – was interested in was getting their money. Lastly, after the last detail of the work was completed (dryer vent), I received another invoice requesting payment “to avoid finance fees” only TWO DAYS after the job was done! Who assesses finance fees for that short a period of time? RUN, don’t walk, away from this company!

Lon Smith was very prompt in their service. They did what they said in all areas. The inspector was pulled from the job for another home but did come back to check that all was done correctly.

We hired Lon Smith to replace our roof after the 2008 hail storm. They did an excellent job. After the 2017 hail storm we hired them again and did an excellent job. The experience with the whole team, sales person, roofing crew, back office has been very good. Would highly recommend.

We hired Lon Smith to do our roof replacement after a hail storm. The sales guy was great. The roofers kept the work site tidy and organized. So far, no leaks and over all the roof looks good. When their inspector came out we discussed a few issues that needed to be resolved. He promised they would be taken care of right away. 3 months and three repair crews later the repairs were completed. Follow up communication was horrible. They had at least three different customer service guys communicating with us...having to start the process all over again with each of them. Ultimately, it was our sales guy (who was no longer with the company) who put us in touch with some people higher up in the company to get these repairs done.

Very professional and performed excellent work. Will recommend to other without a doubt. They went above and beyond when replacing our roof and had inspectors on site to make sure that things went smoothly.

Professional Salesman. Knew his subject, did not push any materials, company, or product over another. He did not try and provide any other work than roof replacement. Work was done on time and without any problems.

We had a great experience with Lon Smith Roofing when they replaced our roof after a hail storm and we would highly recommend them. They were the only company to give us a detailed estimate up front and they didn’t ask for the insurance estimate first, or say they had to be there when the insurance adjuster went through, which all of the other companies did. They gave us an honest quote based on the work needed and I never felt like they were trying to take advantage of the situation or max out the insurance money. In fact, they gave us such a great price, they came in under the insurance estimate and even upgraded our shingles for free, which will be money back in our pocket through lower insurance premiums. They were also very professional and fast. They replaced our entire roof in a day, while we’ve seen others in the neighborhood take several days. Hopefully we won’t need another roof for a long time, but we would definitely use them again!

First class - Lon Smith Roofing crew completed our hail damaged roof replacement in June 2007. This was our 2nd Lon Smith roof in over 25 years. From Sales to Office to Install, the Lon Smith personnel and crew were punctual, professional and very customer conscious. The Sales Rep. worked with us to assure we had our roof of choice, quality and price, and he met with our insurance adjuster for joint inspection, to assure proper specifications and options. The Office staff made scheduling a "No Problem". The Installation's crew was efficient, prompt, productive and professional. The Quality Control Inspector made multiple trips over the 2 days install, to assure everything went smoothly, and customer's questions were answered. His several oversight walk inspections gave us confidence of the quality of work being completed. This is a great asset to the customer, and it confirmed the quality of workmanship and material we expected.

It’s my pleasure to recommend Lon Smith Roofing. These folks have installed 2 roofs on my house…once just before I purchased the house in 2003. Second time in 2017…due to an insurance claim for hail damage. LSR was invited to bid based on their prior work on my house…for 14 years, my roof was not a concern…always looked good and performed as expected…kept us dry.
As an added extra, as we worked thru the insurance claim, Trent of LSR sat down with us and patiently explained how much our insurance claim would reimburse for needed repairs. This was key for us, as repeated attempts to have the insurance folks give us “plain English” answers were fruitless.
On the day of install, our LSR Supervisor, Josh worked with us to ensure first class quality. And Josh’s follow-up was superior…always available to quickly and efficiently take care of any issues on our punch list…Josh followed up immediately!
