My acrylic paintings on canvas come primarily from my imagination. I will see something in real life and capture that image in my mind. A more dreamlike picture emerges?with more vibrant colors and with simpler shapes or more exaggerated contours. I?ll often scribble a quick sketch ahead of time, but there are always spontaneous alterations as the piece unfolds. I have been told my works have an element of whimsy & mystery; that they invite one to ?jump right into them?. I like that. What I hope is that others experience the same feeling of joy and serenity looking at my paintings as I feel in painting them.
