Each day, KinderCare provides a balanced approach to learning - giving parents the comfort of knowing their child will have fun as she develops socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. It's about giving children the tools to become confident, fun-loving, and self aware. In addition to the role academics play in that development, we believe there are many other things involved. Every day our teachers give each child endless opportunities to grow, learn, and imagine. Social and emotional growth: Whether building a spaceship to blast off to Mars, or inviting a new friend to share a story at circle time, there are plenty of activities designed to help children excel socially and emotionally in our centers. Academics: Our goal is to prepare children for their school years through age-appropriate lesson plans including phonics, reading, math, science and more - all the while making learning fun. Caring, passionate teachers: For our teachers, this is an opportunity to share their passion for life while they inspire, engage, and awaken the wonder inside each and every child. Physical activity, healthy nutrition: Children will get all the exercise they need while having fun in a safe and comfortable environment. Plus, a certified nutritionist plans all meals and snacks. Peace of mind: Through daily communication, regular informal check-ins, and formal parent-teacher conferences, we give parents the confidence to focus on their own needs while away from their child.

I have worked for Kinder Care ...

I have worked for Kinder Care for 20 years in washington state, and I know that our centers run at the highest quality of care for both children and parents. My suggestion is that you take these reviews with a grain of salt and go to your specific center for a tour. You can show up uunannounced, but sometimes its better to make an appointment so that you will have someone there to answer all of your questions. We do have an open door policy, which means enrolled parents can visit at any time without notice. Our centers are very clean and our staff members are there for the families and children. Again I hope that you will give your local KINDER CARE A CHANCE AND TOUR THEM. IT NEVER HURTS TO HAVE AN OPEN MIND ABOUT SOMETHING AND MAKE UP YOUR MIND FOR YOURSELF.

I am in school to become a teacher and have to complete on site assignments and hours. I have heard TERRIBLE things about Kinder Care, but decided to complete a work assignment there to see what they were about. I called them at see if I could come today, and they jumped on me and said, "We don't do that anymore!"....CLICK. It is almost like they are trying to hide something. Most other care centers welcome me in because they are proud of their facility, and because I have three kids and could be a potential client. I am shocked at how they could stay open. I already have a bad taste in my mouth regarding child care centers after working at one a few years ago for one day. It was so bad and abusive, they even had the state in to follow up on complaints, that I too reported them. I would strongly encourage any parent who has had legitimate issues with a care facility to report them a.s.a.p. to the state. Do not let any other children experience this trauma!

bad teachers

I took my child out because teachers are so bad. They don't care for my child or others. Teachers are just sitting and talking to each other. My child has BM and no one change her diaper till I picked her up. Infant room is ok but Toddler is bad.

I was an employee at a Jacksonville, FL Julington Creek Kindercare for several years and I wouldn't recommend this facility to any parent they aren't professional, very disorganized management and the teacher turn over is very high in the 2 yr old class alone they went through several teachers within a few months this is not a stable environment when teachers being constantly changed. Many of the classroom facilities are not very clean and the kitchen where the meals are prepared isn't very clean and sanitary and I have no idea how it passes inspection all the time. The infant room teacher there is young, immature and shouldn't even be a daycare teacher overall b/c she doesn't have the right temprament to deal with children and I have heard name calling of children and criticizing them for not reaching their milestones in the time frame they see fit. This is not someone you want watching your child. The tution is way over priced and what you get for your money is not worth it, pretty much anyone can walk in and apply for a job to teach a class of infants, pre-schoolers, etc. a very scary thought.

Do Not Come Here.....

Do not bring your child to any Kindercare's in MN.......I have been working at a Kindercare in MN for a long time ( I wont say) and the management is fake and so is everything about kindercare. The only time anybody is happy and has a smile on is when someone comes to see if we can be accrediated or if the health nurse is coming. They always tell us at the last minute to hurry up and clean or make sure you are doing everything for your curriculm. They NEVER say or do any of these things on a regular basis.

Awesome!

I love Kindercare! My daughter is in the VPK program and stays for wrap around care. They do a great job teaching her the basics and more! The center she attends is always clean and well kept. The teachers are professional and truly care about the kids.

My experience has been VERY POSITIVE! Thank you Kindercare! I never realized how much planning they put into my child's day. The lesson plans are posted each week and there are always fun activities to do along with the weekly theme. For example, a couple of weeks ago, they were studying the weather, so the teacher had them make fluffy clouds, blue raindrops, yellow suns, a moon and stars and then she divided her classroom into different themes- one corner was sunny with flowers, one had the moon with the stars hanging overhead, one had rain and clouds, etc. My daughter loved it. They do things like this all year long. They even had a celebration for Dr. Seuss' Birthday on March 2nd and they brought in the CAT-in-the-Hat to read stories to the kids all day at every center in the area! What fun! The center even gave each child a photo with the CAT! It was neat.

Keep putting the kids first!

I got to say that I though kc was a safe place. I just moved out here from NY and my wife and I work full-time we need help with our precious 1yr old and I was considering this establishment based on the fact they are a corporation. Observing these comments made me scared! My little girl is my whole world and if the place is not good enough for this many parents then its not good for me..

Kindercare :)

I would not take my 3 boys anywhere but Kindercare. They teach them so many wonderful things and they are always doing an art project or some type of creative work. Some days the middle one will cry when I pick him up because he doesn't want to leave his teacher. The entire staff is wonderful. I think just like with anything else, your experience depends on the people running the building. It is a great feeling as a parent to not have to worry about the safety of my kids while I am at work. The Kindercare I use also has parent nights out, parent day during the holidays, cooking classes and much more. The director also sends home photos of my boys, I would say atleast once a week I get a copy of a picture. She takes pictures a lot of times during a fun activity, like shaving cream painting and then attaches the photo to the "painting" so I can see the end result. Another thing she does is once in a while I get an e-mail at work with a picture of the boys playing or just smiling~ to brighten my day. This is a director who really cares about the children and families!

They LOST my daughter!

My daughter was found down the street at a liquor store by two strangers who dialed 911. They didn't call me until AFTER she was found! She could have been run over, kidnapped, killed... DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS THERE.

I work for a locally family owned childcare center. They have been in business for over 20 years and have very low turnover. I have been with them for almost 15 years and 2 of my co-workers have been with them almost 20 years. Regardless is a childcare center is a franchise or family owned, they are still checked on just the same. In the State of Oregon there is one pop-in visit a year and your scheduled renewal visit. If complaints are made to the State, then additional visits are made depending on the complaint. The Kindercares in the area I work in do not sound good. I hear that they are dirty, smell like urine, have high turnover, high rates, and low enrollment. That does not sound like a quality childcare center or close to what you describe in your area. They also know own Knowledge Begginings (haven't heard anything negative) and Children's World (nothing good about them). I think when you become so large, it is hard to oversee all the centers and only hire the best. Our Directors at our centers are very picky in who they choose and if they are not working out, they are talked to and sometimes let go. I think the Director is a direct reflection on the center. If the center is dirty, that is because of the Director not managing the Staff and the center properly. If there is high turnover, then the Director is not doing a great job at interviewing. You have to be picky when you hire people and not hire 'desperately'. You will regret it in the end. Our locations are at almost full capacity which I hear is not normal, especially with the economy. So I would have to say when deciding on what childcare center to send your child to, you need to take in to consideration the following:

1. Cleanliness

-Center

-Teacher

-Mgmt.

-Children

2. Teachers

-How long they've been there

-Training

-How they interact w/ each other/children

-Introduce themselves at tour

3. Policies

4. Director/Mgmt.

-If you had a concern, do you feel they would handle it?

-Knowledge of policies, Teachers

-Knowledgeable of what your child should be learning at their age.

And most important, do you have that 'gut instinct' that this is the one? I have parents that tour our center and within the first few minutes you can tell they've decided if they do or do not like your facility.

Wow

I'm not a customer but was looking into sending my daughter there. It looks like the general consensus is that it's not a great place to send your children. Thanks, really. I'd kill someone if they mistreated my daughter. I might have to relocate to NC and I need my daughter to get the same quality care she was getting here in MD.

Fed Up!

I'm in northern IL. i hate this KC! It's the only one that's on my way to my job. I realllly wish I had more options! They are SEVERELY understaffed and the director Kim is a real you know what! There is high turnover of staff, and my child always comes home with dirty clothes on, despite the fact that they have you bring a spare outfit. IDIOTS! they don't have the staff to give your kid the attention they DESERVE! they're all about the government check. Your kid is a walking dollar sign with these idiots! The director is SOOO rude! i can't WAIT for this other daycare option to come through. Then I will be sending a VERY nasty letter to her boss!

my child was never really sick until attending this KC. don't they clean the toys? just today my child came home AGAIN with pink eye! WTF????

at the end of the week, like clockwork, my kid is sick. ALLL THE TIME! and i can't TELL you how many times they've called me at work to pick up my kid. I have NO time off now. Thanks, morons! and all 3 times were for NO damn good reason! ugh...if only i had better options close to work.

Our son has been bullied, mistreated, neglected, and his things have been lost or stolen from our KinderCare. I feel the care is lousy and the attention to detail is lacking. The supervision of staff by the director and the supervision of children is poor. My son often comes home stained or dirty, and the more I have complained the worse of a grudge I think they hold. We are presently looking for another daycare, as our son is disabled and needs to have responsible adults looking out for him.

POOR CARE

MY SON HAS BEEN TO KINDER CARE ON VAN MAREN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW AND THEY ARE VERY UNSANITARY, UNPROFESSIONAL AND ALLOW TODDLERS AND OTHER PARENTS IN THE INFANT ROOM ALL THE TIME. THEY DON'T ENFORCE RULES OF COVERING SHOES, AND TREAT YOUR KIDS LIKE ANOTHER PAY CHECK. THEIR ARE MANY MANY OTHER ISSUES AS WELL BUT I COULD PROBABLY RIGHT A BOOK ON WHY NOT TO TAKE YOUR CHILD, OR INFANT TO THIS DAY CARE!!
