HORRIBLE customer service. Upon booking with Hawaii Car Transport, I called to inquire about what documents I would need to ship my car to Honolulu. Contradicting what the documentation they sent me said, the girl who answered informed me that all I would need to ship the car was a copy of the registration. Hesitant that this information wasn't right, I attempted to contact the original person who booked my reservation. After not being able to get ahold of anybody at Hawaii Car Transport for several days, I decided to do a bit of research and discovered that Hawaii Car Transport contracts out through Horizon Lines. For the same price, I was able to cut out the middle man and deal directly with the shipping company. When I called Hawaii Car Transport to cancel, I was transferred to the manager, Melissa, who proceeded to raise her voice and tell me that I was locked into a contract with them and that they are the only booking company for Horizon Lines. After a bit of back-and-forth with her, she cancelled my booking and thus was the end of our conversation. Shortly after, I went directly to www.horizonlines.com and booked my reservation to ship my car from Oakland to Honolulu. To ensure my reservation went through, I called the Horizon Honolulu office and the staff in the Horizon Honolulu office was very friendly and accommodating. Save yourself the trouble and cut out this middle man!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I have never taken the time to write a bad review, however, this company's incompetence has defeated my care for my time. My husband and I recently moved to Hawaii and hired to company to ship our car. Originally, I was going to drive the car to the port because it was cheaper than having someone come pick it up. However, due to traveling reasons, I wouldn't have gotten it to the port too late for the car to arrive in Hawaii when we did (Decemeber 2nd). The rep told us that if we paid the extra money (about $500 extra) to have someone come pick it up then the car would arrive in hawaii when we did. We bit the bullet and paid the extra money because we really needed the car to be here when we got here. Well, today is December 15th and we STILL don't have our car and we were told it won't be here until December 19th. So we basically paid this crap company an extra $500 for nothing. I wish we would have saved that money to use it for a rental car.... Other than that, no one at the company seems to know what they are talking about. We keep getting thrown on the run around and it's been extremely difficult to have any questions answered. I'm telling you... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Any company who will take almost $2000 from a customer and treat them this poorly is NOT a good company (obviously). I wish I wouldn't have judged them based off their website ("5 star rated customer service" my a**!) and read the reviews first. Learn from my mistake, use another company.

WORST experience ever. NEVER use them. My husband shipped my car from Honolulu to California, not a big deal, he also arranged for Hawaii car transport to pick it up and drive it to my door in CT. He paid everything in full. My car arrived in CA on June 11th and sat there until June 30th because they "couldn't find a truck driver" yet they had already taken our money. I inquired about the charges for storage since I know it wouldn't be sitting there for free. They only cover 10 days because it is "their responsibility". No, I believe their responsibility is to cover the whole time frame that my vehicle was sitting useless to me and my children. Beyond that I called and left 5 or so messages for this company, also the person in charge Paul Diorio. I left him at least two messages personally, and I have never once received a call back. I only managed to get a representative ONE of the times I have called them and she just brushed me off saying she would call in the morning to update me, never heard from her again. All of my messages were ignored again.

Now here I sit on July 11th with no vehicle still. It is actually supposed to arrive today but after we were told it would be dropped off at my house I have to drive 30 minutes with my two year old and 3 month old to pick it up and it is already an hour late. No phone call from the driver, I had to call him. He said it would be at least another hour and a half. What is with all of these delays? I just want my car. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU WANT YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY FASHION. (I'd give them 0 stars but it is making me rate them so they will get one)

After dealing with Hawaii Car Transport for much of the past two weeks, there is little good that I can say about the company, although they haven’t shipped my car yet – and whether they ever will is still undecided. Perhaps, if they actually manage to get my car to Hawaii without any damage, I can give them that, but for now, every experience has been a negative.

First off, they’re very misleading. With their 808 area code and “Aloha!” greeting, you’d expect to be speaking to someone in Hawaii, but as best as I can tell, it’s an office in either New York or New Jersey. I got one call where a New York number came up on caller ID and every one that I’ve spoken to has the telltale accent. I know it’s not really a big deal, but it just gave me the impression of a shady company from the start.

Getting through to them is difficult. Expect to spend several minutes on hold and don’t be surprised if, after all that time, you’re switched to voice mail anyway.

Customer service is awful. I spoke with Jessica every day for a week and each time was told that I would be contacted “tomorrow” in order to have my car picked up. Each day, I called back and was told that that no driver was available in my area but that my file was a priority and marked “urgent.” Yet, each time, Jessica had no idea who I was or what the problem was. I don’t have a common name at all, so I’d think that after five consecutive days – and a sixth one where she had called me two hours earlier and left a voice message for me – that she might have some clue as to who I was and what I was calling about. No matter how many calls you get per day, you’d think you’d eventually remember someone who your company is seemingly screwing over every day – unless, of course, they do that to all of their customers.

She also promised me on a Friday afternoon that she would call me back later in the day to let me know if they could pick up that day, as the looming three-day weekend would assure that they wouldn’t get it to Hawaii in the timeframe that they originally told me they would if they. She didn’t call back, they didn’t get the car and now I’ll have to wait at least another week in order to pick up my vehicle in Hawaii. That means another week of a rental car, which will cost me several hundred dollars.

On top of that, they suggested that I drive my car 75 miles to the nearest big city in order to find someone who would actually pick it up. Of course, they refused to give me any kind of refund or discount for the inconvenience that they have caused in terms of not picking up my car when they said they would and of asking me to drive it an hour and a half for their “door-to-port” service.

Excellent customer service when calling to book shipping however...after booked and they get the payment it's all cat and mouse...

I was told it'll take 6 days for my car to be shipped from LA to Oahu. May 12,2014 is when dropped my car off at the LA port... I was told my car would be here on May 21,2014... I've called all week and was assured today May 21st I'd be able to pick up my car... This morning at 9 am I call and was told my car was in the middle of the ocean. They also told me my car was shipped on Saturday May17,2014 and that I won't get my car till May 27,2014. Count the days!!! Even if my cars shipped on May 17,2014 the 6th day would be Friday May 23rd,2014... I was told today by Hawaii Car Transport I'm confused on dates... My confusion came from the information I was given by them... I don't work for them they should have told me when it ships and a specific date I'd pick it up... All this drama cause the day six days and have no damn clue when it really get In!!! Never again! Hopefully this helps anyone that wants to book with this company I wish I saw a review like this before giving them a cent of my money...

Well, as I was reading these reviews, I'm thinking they were wrote by staff members of Hawaii Car Transport, or better known as V2 Logistics. They are indeed a shipping company, however they DO NOT ship you're car personally, they outsource it to Horizon Lines. This review is based on HAWAII CAR TRANSPORT ONLY, not Horizon Lines.

When I booked with Hawaii Car Transport, I did so because they told me the we indeed Horizon Lines. FALSE! When I went to drop off the car to Horizon in Los Angeles, I'm told by the staff, that Hawaii Car Transport is a client of theirs, and they hold an account with them, however they ARE NOT owned by them, or even remotely the same company. That was lie # 1 from Hawaii Car Tranport.

Next, the customer service is HORRIBLE. They act like you are bothering them when you call. They have 3 reps to answer you're calls, which are in the Corp office located at 1055 Stewart Ave, Suite 20 in Bethpage, New York. I had two people tell me they charged my credit card, and 2 tell me they didn't. They couldn't make up their minds if the charge went thru or not. I ended up just overnighting a postal money order to them for the full amount.

Next I was told I didn't need anything in writing for a friend of ours to drop the car off at the port in Los Angeles... WRONG AGAIN. I did indeed need something. Didn't have to be notarized, but did need my License and approval. Lastly, when trying to track this order via their handy little tracking feature, it don't work. When I call them about it, they "don't know what to tell me". Do yourself a favor, I spoke to Horizon Lines, who they actually send you're car off with.... book directly with them, its actually a little cheaper AND their customer service agents were amazing today when I called with questions.

This is the first time I used ...

This is the first time I used Hawaii car transport (I have use other transport companies before and was dissatisfied with their process). Hawaii car transport service was excellent. Paul got me a quote quickly; pick up in Florida was well coordinated. It was anticipated to take 23 days to get to Hawaii but it arrived 4 days early. I was kept informed of the status of my transport throughout the process.

I would definitely use Hawaii Car Transport again without reservations.
